First of all if you haven't seen it, you can watch it for free on catchup by signing up to itv box office online.

Secondly, what a fight! It's rare that an all action fight is fought at such a high-skill level but that's exactly what this was. IMO the two best Cruisers in the world going at it toe to toe.

I can see now why Bellew avoided the WBSS, he would have absolutely no chance at all vs either of these monsters (neither would this version of Haye).

Usyk is saying if he wins the tournament he will move up to HW to face Joshua. I think this could be AJ's sternest test as I don't rate Wilder at all.

    Thoughts?

It was of the highest quality. The ref had hardly anything to do. The only clinch he had to break up was in the 12th. I’m not surprised Usyk wants to move up a division, it sounds daft but there’s a lot less killers in that division.

If AJ hits anyone they go down.

Thought Usyk was hit more frequently last night than in all his fights to date although this is down to the level of opponent who was quick and fought hard from first bell until the final bell.

On the other side, AJ could not live fighting at 20% of the pace set last night and would be gassed after 2-3 rounds.

Obviously Usyk would need to put on at least one stone of weight as he is not the most powerful puncher even at cruiserweight.

I think a fight going past 3 rounds between Usyk and AJ could see the big man being schooled.

I think Usyk comes into the ring at 210-215 which is only 5-10lbs less than what Wilder weighs on fight night. I remember Usyk absolutely schooling the much bigger 6"6 Joe Joyce with no problems at all.

    Things could get very interesting.

Usyk is way too easy to hit! AJ would stop him.

I think usyk vs ward makes for a better fight

He is normally solid to hit, but he was fighting a superb, elite boxer last night.

excellent fight and an excellent advert for what happens when the best fight the best in their primes, two elite fighters going at it, at a frenetic pace for 12 rounds, can't wait for the rest of the tournament now

Great scrap. Briedes started really well but Usyk took control as the fight went on. Really looking forward to Gassiev Dorticos

Joyce did get schooled but Usyk looked stunned from some of Joyce's shots who is not a big puncher. His chin looks good but not sure he can take too many of Joshua's bombs if he does move up.

Definitely not concussive power (at CW) although Briedes looks to be carrying solid whiskers, will need to get on his bike to survive against the super heavys.

Usyk a great character though and will be good to have him onboard at heavy.

I don't think he's ugly at all but what the hell does that have to do with boxing. The guy is one of the best fighters in the sport.
