We all know Pac is not fighting in his natural weight division,if you could pick 1 fighter in the lowerweight divisions that SHOULD be fighting Pac, who would it be and why?:think

126-145 (catchweight)...who would it be that naturally DESERVES a shot at Pac.

I would be more interested to see Pac vs paul williams at 147 than the mayweather fight. Better fight for the casual fan.

Floyd fights are stinkers now...i couldn't care less if he fights ever again.

    just my opinion.

I'd say maybe JMM, just to settle things once and for all. I think JMM was pushing it at 135, so in an ideal world the rubber match would happen at LW. Not holding my breath though.

I doubt we'll ever see Bradley-Pac, so the most realistis still might be Edwin Valero.

i think Valero deserves the title of "most avoided man in boxing"

That guy is the toughest fighter in boxing for 3 rounds.

I think Marquez won the 2nd fight (by 2 points)and I dont have any qualms about the 1st one that was correctly ruled a draw. I think Pac has gotten better and Marquez has slipped a little but I still think Marquez deserves a rubbermatch. I think they should fight at 140. After Pac fights Mayweather.

i think, and this is just my observation, that the boxing public realizes that a rubbermatch would be pointless...pac is obviously head and shoulders above the fighter who participated in the first two fights with JMM and would more than likely knock him out.

This is why you really don't hear anything about it right now.

I think if they fight at 140 or above, Pac just holds too many advantages. I don't think JMM was even suites to LW but he was successful just because of how skilled/smart he is.

I had the first fight a draw and had JMM winning the rematch but I'd have to go with Pac if the rubber-match happened at 140. Still think JMM deserves another chance though.

Of course he deserves a rubbermatch...i just don't think he would want it for any other reason then the money he would make. He would get a serious ass-stomping!!

I do agree with you,but the thread asked about lighter weight guys and Marquez deserves the fight over the others. I would also like to see Bradley vs Pac. Or if Valero can grab a big win that would also be good.

If Valero could score a ko over a good fighter like Holt at 140, I think there's an excellent chance we could see him against Pac.

I actually thought Guzman could have beaten Pacquiao at 130 but obviously he's lost whatever small chance he had of getting that fight.

I notice you mentioned 145 well in that case I think Mosley should be next if Mayweather wants to Cry about Money and makes things difficult. Mosley has stated that hed go down. However I dont think Pac should be asking for anymore catchweight fights hes been a welterweight in 2 fights and he has to stop all this bull**** and either fight at 147 or drop to 140 hes a damn welterweight now not a Super duper jr welter or Mini WElter if he wants to come in at 145 fine but these other welters should be able to come in at 147 if they want.

As long as he weighs in over 140lbs, he is fighting at welterweight. The catchweight was for Cotto's benefit. Arum wanted Cotto to train seriously for this fight...what better way to do that than make him achieve 145?

Brilliant move by Arum...we saw a very good fight for 4 rounds as a result. :happy
