One other thing I noticed about Martinez is how much he likes to clinch. He rushes in, throws 2-4 shots, and then hangs on for dear life. He really sucks at clinching, but he more or less got away with it against Cintron and Williams, but those guys are natural welterweights. That **** won't fly against a big-strong middleweight. If he tries that, he'll take some god awful body shots and uppercuts.

 

As someone else has said, Boo, for a guy who is convinved Pavlik will win it easy, you have been very thorough in doing your homework... it's almost as if you were slightly worried or something...!

...seriously, though... you've done some hard-core analysis here... and no one has done half as much from the other side...

 

I enjoy the process of breaking down and debating fights. Right now this is the only fight that is coming up soon, interesting, and debatable.

Mayweather/Mosely: I avoid Mayweather threads. The joy boys make me crazy.

Froch/Kessler: Kessler looked like **** in his last fight, and there are to many open questions about the guy to make any definitive statements.

Bute/Miranda: I think this is more of a one-sided ass whooppin' than a debatable fight.

Berto/Quintana: Not really crazy about either guy.

And so on and so forth. The "problem" I have right now is that most of the "Martinez supporters" aren't actually Martinez fans. They're just guys who for one reason or another hope to see KP get beat. Therefore, they understand Martinez only on a very superficial level, and can't keep up.

 

Adamek vs. Arreola is a good fight to analyse.

 

Martinez is a spoiler, he is not easy to fight Pavlik will have his hand full.

 

Yes it is. That one kind of slipped my mind. Arreola says ( again ) that he'll be in top shape and come in around 235. If he does that, he'll win, but we've heard this from him before. It's like Taylor saying he'll fix his stamina issues! If Chris comes in his usual fat ass self, Tomasz takes him to school.

 

I think he does also. Why doesn't Pavlik fight a real fighter is what I am wondering. This will prove nothing and waste more of Pavlik's prime.

 

Nah, Martinez is not strong enough to do anything to Pavlik. Pavlik should have joined the super 6 to prove he is a good fighter.

 

Kelly wasn't invited. Was never an option. Kelly is still a MW with belts to defend. Paul Williams is ranked as #2 contender at MW according to Ring. I think Martinez showed to be Paul's equal.

But yeah, MW is what it is at the moment. Sturm and Williams really don't want to get in the ring with Kelly.

 

You know better than to post this ****. Pavlik was NOT invited to the super six. Neither was Bute. Bute slaps Kessler silly and scores a wide UD. Pavlik demolishes Abraham in about 8 rounds. THAT is why Sauerland did not invite either man to his party. He ****ed up by inviting Ward and Dirrell, but on paper, ahead of time, neither should have beat his two boys. Losing to Kessler and Abraham, on paper, was the number one qualification for getting an invite.

Nah, it was obvious Dirrell had a big styles advantage. The only question was whether he could take Abraham's shots, and that wasn't really answered.

I can't remember what I lost my points on. I don't remember betting on much boxing though. Maybe Martinez/Williams? I think I lost a bit on betting on stoppages which didn't happen, but I'll have to check through that forum to see.
