Just finished watching Barker-Martinez for the first time...

    ...after I drunkenly fell asleep and missed it last night.

    I wasn't really for a Martinez vs Mayweather or Pacquiao bout, but I give a good chance of both pulling off the victory against Martinez now...especially if that Martinez turns up. His reflexes were terrible, Mayweather or Pacquiao could hit him at will IMO.

    Impressed by Barker, he had great success when he let his hands go in combinations...didn't do it enough though.

    Snap. I'm glad Darren gave a good account of himself. It was a shame about the knock out as he was only really troubled in the 10th.

    It should open a few doors for him

    I gained a ton of respect for Barker after that fight. But, seriously, Martinez was the only guy making the fight. Martinez clearly won 2/3 of the rounds. Barker deserves big fights against other top MWs, but he needs to Fight. If every British fighter starts fighting championship fights like David Haye, British boxing will die.

    It was a very close fight with some hard to score rounds but Martinez did good to knock out Barker. Fight was pretty close to a draw imo.

    I rewatched it just now. I don't think it was that bad of a fight on second viewing actually.

    Martinez made the entire fight.Barker good defensively but very limited offense.I had M up 7-3 going into the 11th.

    Barker only lasted so long because he wasn't letting his hands go enough. He wasn't ever really in position to win the fight.
