Thats it.This sport is just for for guys who couldnt make it in boxing as my man Floyd MONEY knows too well Wrestlers tryin to box is just backwater boxing.
yeah and boxers are just for guys who werent able to make it in american football? Please get the **** outta here
For the record - our heavyweight champion would beat your champion and our 155 lb champ would leave Floyd Mayweather in an unconscious broken heap inside 3 minutes. Now go back to the playground and leave the discussions to the grown folks.
Whoever your champ is couldnt carry Floyds jockstrap as a fighter. If he did he would be fighting for multi million dollar paychecks and hold a candle to him with regards to rep in the world of sport. You know thatYou dont have a clue what your talking about.Boxing is the ultimate combat sport, the specialised combat sport and anyone who knows a damn about combat sports knows this. The likes of Vlad,Floyd,Roy,Joe Cal,Pac started boxing as kids because it takes years to develop the speed, reflexes, timing and power to muster any kind of career at the top level. Not a sport you can take up in your twenties. You can take any reasonable to top level athlete and turn him into a decent enough MMA fighter within a year of training.Brian Urlacher within six months of good training will tool many MMA guys. The years it takes to master the craft of the sweet science makes that same scenario impossible in boxing.Even a poor barn brawler like Kimbo or Bob Sapp can achieve the sort of moderate success he can only dream of if competing in boxing.
Don't feed the troll. But please give him money so he can go back to school and learn to write. I think Evander Holyfield could put a more coherent sentence together.
As a "fighter" ? no...You should say as a "boxer". There's a big difference between the two. A guy like Mayweather would be like a fish out of water as soon as he'd be forced to on the ground. Mayweather's style works under specific rules. Boxing...Under different set of rules....(let's take mma for example ) the ref wouldn't separate the fighters during the clinch. And the multi-million dollard paid fighter would be ridiculed by a nobody....But a nobody who knows his wrestling & jiujitsu. No need to have mayweather confront a top mma fighter...He'd get owned by a "can" under mma rules. It's a whole different sport which you have no understanding of... whatsoever... It's relative...From my point of view , you're a clueless moron who's sucking mayweather's dick cause you don't have the brains to think for yourself. You're like a perrot , repeating what your idol says...If mayweather tells you to jump off a cliff, would you do it?...Seriously... Mayweather accepted a ridicule wwe challenge...again , all for the money... he'd do almost anything for money...he'd say anything , for money... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srT3FFl7tRw In the real world...if this **** wouldn't be fixed... The 7ft & 480 lbs wreslter would litteraly murder the 5'8 160 lbs boxing "legend"... He'd kill him. No need for jabs , no bob & weave...He'd either strangle him to death or break all his tiny bones... It certainly isn't....Never was , never will be. Because of the very nature of the sport. It's limited. a combat sport in which you're only allowed to use your punches...You can't throw kicks , no knees , no elbows , no judo throws , no wrestling , no submissions... It's actually one of the most limited combat sport there is. But it's part of western culture....it's been adopted by the public , top boxers are paid millions for a good reason... It's been around for years and huge sponsors are associated with it. It takes years to develop athletes like Rafael Nadal or Kobe Bryant...The same truth goes to most elites of their respective disciplines And mma is no exception. Vitali Klitschko was originally , a kickboxer...(a sport in which he got koed out cold by a "can" by the way...that's right...a guy who'll never receive the type of money Vitali is making now...).... He started his career as a boxer at 25 years old... Foreman started his professional career in his 20's... Marciano started his amateur debut at 23... But why would you automatically assume that mma participants all started in their late 20's ? Do you even understand what mma is in the first place ? Do you realise that 80% of these guys had a "past" before trying this sport ? most are athletes coming from Judo , sambo , greco wrestling , jiujitsu , kickboxing , karate , muay thai and so on... MMA is the sport which allows you to test a certain discipline against another... That's why even olympic caliber athletes are participating...Gold , Silver medal olympic winners (in greco).... Just recently , a triple gold medalist greco wrestler (Joe Warren) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Warren_(fighter) Gave MMA a try....and it only was natural because wrestling is ideal to dominate in a sport such as MMA. (where ground fighting is allowed , unlike boxing). Some participants are ex-ADCC champions , some are judo olympic gold medalists... Take Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira for example , he started training at age 5 in judo...then a few years later was training jiujitsu , then entered the MMA scene... There's tons of amazing athletes in mma who ended up being total "waste" of talents even after years of training... Don't put everyone in the same basket. Remember the Klitchko example i gave you. Hey , better yet... Take the cliched example , Matt Skelton... debuted as a kickboxer , had a 10 wins & 7 losses record in K1... His boxing record... 22 wins & 3 losses http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=141021&cat=boxer the same guy couldn't last more than 2 minutes under MMA rules.. and got owned by a one dimensional wrestler...who sucks at boxing...but he still owned him. look for yourself.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAIgNhVT3Zs And yes , Matt Skelton is making way WAY more money today...(thanks to boxing)....it still doesn't change the fact that he'd get raped by an mma fighter again and again and again... Aleksander Povetkin... Won gold in boxing HW (in athens) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleksandr_Povetkin still undefeated as a pro... and guess what ? he too , was a kickboxer...he started boxing in his 20's... Boxing seemed like a natural choice for his career. JUST LIKE , MMA is a natural choice for ex-wrestlers , ex-judokas and so on and so on....NOT because they're boxing "rejects". A huge majority of them never intended to become boxers nor even had experience as amateur boxers. And why are you saying that ? Is it because of Brock Lesnar ? Keep in mind , a guy like Lesnar , used to be a legit wrestler... "finished his amateur career as a two-time NJCAA All-American, 1998 NJCAA Heavyweight Champion, two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Ten Conference Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106-5 overall in four years of college" In other words , MMA was ideal for a guy like this to dominate using his vast wrestling experience...half of the training and experience was already there , years before he decided to enter the ufc.
I think it's even funny that you picked a guy like Urlacher...We're talking about a 6-4 - 260 lbs athlete here...you subconsciously understand that it takes monsters in order to have a legit "chance" with just a few months of training.... Tell that to the Klitschkos...(who originally started as kickboxers) Tell that to Crocop..(who originally started as a kickboxer , then went to mma...for + 5 years and could never reach the jiujitsu level of a Fabricio werdum , Nogueira , Aoki)... Everyone evolves and learns differently...For some , it's easier than most (BJ Penn is a fine example)... For others , it'll be a nightmare. We can also reverse the roles....After all , Muhammad Ali gave wrestling a try against Antonio Inoki....No one ever forced him to participate. (the fight was partly fixed anyway) For the record...Kimbo was more of an internet phenomenon than an mma legend...In his latest fight , he was KOed in 14 seconds...The only reason why EliteXC ( mma org which filed for bankruptcy after kimbo's loss) , gave Slice a chance...was because of his internet popularity...the guy was a total bum. (a nice guy though , who had ko power) but all fans knew he was a joke. Sapp , a 350 lbs muscle mass freak of nature originally started in pro wrestling , then K1 & MMA...and i don't think i'm even gonna bother finishing my message... In conclusion.... if you're associating money with greatness , than you're a complete tool. Paris Hilton is a multi-billionaire...But she's ****ing braindead when compared to a genius such as Stephen Hawking... If i follow your logic , Hilton > Hawking because she's making more cash. Tiger Woods > Mayweather (afterall , he makes more money doesn't he ? ) let me guess...Mayweather is a golf player "reject" and ended up doing boxing no ? Your thread title: "for you guys who could not make it in boxing" assumes that all mma participants are boxing rejects...Which is false. a huge majority of them don't even have a boxing amateur record. You're a perrot...You posted this epic failure of a thread because Mayweather said the same ****... Guys like David Haye & Tyson had positive things to say about the sport.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZVtmbS6v8E will you start sucking dana white's dick because of it ? or are you just in love with mayweather ? You're as ****ing dumb as a creationist...I think the only guy that beats you is esb's "one punch"
