Isn't your wife half Filipino? Sounds like you're speaking from personal experience from dealing with your in-laws.

You cant win and the funny thing is he wont even watch the fight and go to his room to play horses. He comes back when the fights over and then lectures me that Pacs too fast and thats what you need in boxing. LMAO!

Cant blame Flips though, Pac took the sport by storm. If Pinoy fighters keep up being in the world stage, then more people would be more informed. As of now, I actually see alot more Pinoy MMa fans than Boxing w/o Pac.

Sad, i think its because boxing was never promoted properly in the Phil. But when Pac came along, it opened a window for those who really like boxing, not just Pac, cause it created a demand which the producers were too happy to give. Now we have boxing back in cable and people watch ( atleast some that i know) it.

Cant blame them for watching MMA tho, its replayed almost every 4 hrs back here!

Funny how many people here try to justify racism by saying everybody does it. You can come up with all the excuses you want about how this people are worst, or they do it over here and there and all you want. But this just show how ignorant and uneducated some people are.

You can follow any sport and athletes without having to disrespect the opponent. Racism is big in european soccer and is making the whole continent look stupid in the eyes of the world. Nationalism pride is one thing. Another is to be a narrow minded stupid, intolerant person.

    :hat

I was there, and it actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. I expected it to be like a Raider game. I'm Pinoy, but I also consider myself a fight fan. As long as you're respectful you shouldn't run into any trouble. I can see how people would get pissed off when they make it country vs country. But I'm not like that. I root for fighters for their style, not their country. The best time I had pre-fight was getting to meet Margarito in the Mandalay.

I'm Filipino-American... born here in the U.S. I don't think I'm racist. I have never hurled racial epithets at anyone.

However, I have had unprovoked racial epithets yelled at me by Mexicans. I don't respond back, but I'm saddened a bit by this. I know that Mexicans here in the U.S. are not treated the best, and I feel no desire to pile on the hate.

Just seems like Mexicans have a chip on their shoulder and their response to being hated on is by hating others.
