Been at this gym for like 10 months. Was sparring today and on the last round....we both go to exchange, and BAM...next thing I know Im on the floor. It was really cool how quick it happened. It was more of a balance thing but still.... Thought I'd share this milestone with you guys. :bbb
Congratulations! I've never been dropped all the way to the canvas, but I did get hit with a right cross once that literally put the lights out. I was still standing, but have absolutely no memory of the next few moments that occured. My sparring partner told me I dropped my hands instantly after being tagged and just stood there, legs all wobbly :tired
Hahah yes I did. I didn't see the shot coming at all and then BANG. Afterwards I couldn't spar for a week because my chin was hurting so bad, every time I clinched my chin hurt like someone hit me :nut
I was droped a couple of times in sparring and in a fight. The funny thing to me was the feeling like :what the hell am i doing on the floor? To me there are different sensations and pain when you get knocked down.
When you got dropped in the fight, was it over or did the fight continue afterwards and how did it end?
I had two fights stopped. One was justified cause i was dropped 2 times in the second round and was gassed like hell the second was a home turf bull**** judge decision.
Thats unfortunate. In a friendly sense not meant to be offensive id suggest learning to bring your punches back faster in tighter, some footwork. or some just simply better defense tactics. 4 years and iv'e never been dropped by a head punch. just body shots. but then again i dont know your weight class or size and this is just simply my opinion
I do have to work on all the things you mentioned. It was really a balance issue. Its not like the punch hurt me to the canvas. I weight about 138lb. It was definitely an eye opener though. I have to be sharper. Thanks for the tips bro
