OMG! What a night for boxing. The Toyota Center was shaking all night long.

Rocky did enough to earn a draw in my eyes. His eye looked really bad and he was able to overcome that. And on top of that he had John in trouble in the last two rounds. Great fight for Rocky. IMHO had it not been for the cut he would had won the fight. :good

Juan Diaz started too strong and eventhough he always starts like that I knew sooner or later it would catch up with him. I kept telling my wife that Diaz doesnt poses the power needed to match someone like Marquez down the strecht. And I was right. The atmosphere in the place during that fight was crazy, half of the place yelling Diaz and the other half yelling Marquez lol....Those crazy Mexicans can scream and holler like a mofo lol...Marquez did a perfect job at the begining of the fight by letting Diaz tired himself out and then going to work on him, great performace by one of the Mexico's finest...:good

:happy For all the fighters tonite, they put on a good show.....

Great night for sure. I was there and the atmosphere was freakin' incredible!

If you guys though that the fight was great on TV, imagine how it was live!

    Great night for sure.

papolamuerte: good stuff starting this thread...you saved the time time for starting one myself. Glad you enjoyed the night...you weren't the only one!

Let's see what Pimp C thought about it.

I agree with everything in the first post. GREAT NIGHT FOR BOXING!

I felt Rocky could have deserved a draw, but not a win tonight, he started too slowly. I gave him the last two rounds and had it scored a draw "before" the decision was announced.

Marquez, I saw it coming, it's a shame that HBO was so biased against him. Max said some of the things I saw tonight, and I used to hate him..told him what I thought live on the air several years ago when he was on ESPN2, still he has always been a nice person.

Thanks for the report , sounds like you got to see something special ! Wish I could have been there.

JM Marquez what can you say ? Once he gets his man hurt he kicks it into another gear . His style is as close to the perfect classic boxer as I have ever seen. Interesting how he hurt Diaz in round 8 and seemed to sense .... OK ... I've got you now , then waited for his opening in the 9th round and closed the show with precision shots .

Pretty good way to retire at 35 :hat

    Bula,

Mi amigo, that fight had me jumping off the seat for the last three rounds man. I honetly thought that Rocky would be the first guy to put John on his back man, too bad the cut took a lot out of him...

    Errsta,

There werent that many empty seats where I was sitting. So I think the numbers of attendance were probably better than expected. I cant wait for the next card.

Yeah I was there as well and what a great night of boxing and what an atmosphere. The crowd was chanting for both Diaz and Marquez it sent chills down my spine truly great experience. I thought Rocky did enough for a draw as well but will have to rewatch it to make a fair assesment. Diaz came out strong like I knew he would. I had him up until the stoppage. He should have clinched and roughed up JMM. If I was in Diaz corner I would have told him to be in JMM's chest and smother him. Diaz has nothing to be ashamed of he fought his heart out.
