You'll be fine. Amateur boxing specially your first few fights is so much more about stamina than actual skills, amazing how many gas out. I gassed out my first fight, won by KO though, lucky as I wouldnt have lasted the full distance.

If youre able to hang with a guy whos had 7 fights, loosing record or not, you should be able to walk through your first fight. Sparring is important specially to gauge your level. I was in the same boat as you, sparring once or twice a month leading up to my fight. Thankfully I had plenty more experience as I trained before, just never fought.

Yea, amazing how so many guys on their first fight gas out. I went to a boxing show, saw some guys having their first fight and gassed out. I criticised them, saying how I would never do that and that is just stupid, surely if you got a fight coming up you would try your hardest to have the stamina atleast right?

    lol.

You were crazy for fighting a week after. It took me a week just to recover from my bruises...!

Gassing out happens to them the first 10 fights or so, its more the nerves than it is conditioning.

No problem sometimes you kick ass sometimes you get your ass kicked. Just remember to chillout and only do light training for about 3-4 days before the fight.

Ok, me and my trainers decided I'm not ready yet so I won't be fighting on November 21. But it's ok, I've only done this 5 weeks, and a lot of amateurs don't fight until 6 months or so of training. I'm not comfortable sparring yet and am still very nervous when it comes to that but I've gotten into great shape and am doing well in everything including doubleend bag except for sparring.

I dont neccessarily get kiled in sparring, but usually my last day of sparring and working before a fight im slow because Im just broken down from the workload... But im on time after a day of rest for the fight.

So if you do have a fight, and this happens, dont sweat it man, just consider how hard youve been working in prep for the fight, and the fact that you had that slow day during training means it wont happen on fight night.
