I think Cotto has more in the tank than Margo and moves laterally rather than straight back this fight. It will have its moments. I can't wait for this night, the whole card is stacked.

I found it interesting that Steward also said that along with boxing Margarito, backing him up and not focusing on retreat was important as well. At first that scared me, but looking back, while we've seen Margarito eat punches and keep coming, his two losses against Pacquiao and Mosley show that if you can land consecutive combinations, due to Margarito's poor balance, he can't return fire. Elements in the first fight highlighted this point too, and it was obvious against Shane and Manny. Cotto doesn't have the speed those two have, but if he picks the right spots with which to jab or throw, he'll find success. I don't think he'll stink it out.

If Cotto is able to land to the body by moving laterally, it could be a different fight as well. We all know "he likes to give it there but he don't like taking it to the body" (Nazim.)

 

Cotto landing a left to the body then stepping out at 9 o'clock will be key. He kept jabbing and moving back at 6 in the first one. I look for him to jab in, fire a quick 1-2 and step to his left this time.

The first meeting was a classic. Cotto vs Margarito is a real mans fight.

I always back Miguel Cotto but i think Margarito even without plaster wraps just has his number.

Orbital fracture are fractures involving small bones. In medicine, they are hard to heal simply because they have lass vascular supply or blood supply.

Plus after the orbital fracture surgery, Margarito had cataract surgery on the same eye because of the damage.

They are not telling the entire story and I assume that it is worse than it really is.

I don't think that eye can sustain damage anymore.

Margarito does not defend well and it will get hit eventually.

 

You got tix! Good for you, bro. Both have agendas, Cotto revenge and Margarito redemption to prove his innocense. Revenge, tho, can change a man into a thing he never thought he could be and it can be a powerful thing. A draw definitely not outta the question. I'll go against the grain and think that is a high possibility if Margarito comes on strong late in the fight and has Cotto in trouble. Cotto a hometown SD or draw.
