A bit off topic but does anyone know if there is a different, faster version of the "Night Train" tune that Liston trained to? I saw some doco with him working to a faster one than the original slow Jimmy Forrest version. I just thought it was a kicking tune and I want to buy/download it

The only one around that era I can find on youtube is the slow Jimmy Forrest one and the James Brown one with vocals.

Are you saying the Liston story is sealed by fact? If so do tell.

There are two instrumental versions, one is faster.

Haven't read 'Night Train." I did read 'The Devil and Sonny Liston' which was very good.

    Absolutely not

I just have much greater reason that it happened, than it not happening.

The author left it up to us to decide weather or not its true. I think it is, because I give Liston the benefit of the doubt

Is Liston a compulsive liar? Not from what I know.

"Night Train" was the original title of the same.

I think this is the same book. It originally came out as "The Devil and Sonny Liston", the author's title preference was "Night Train". I guess he eventually got his way. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. A good read but definitely not something I'd take as gospel.
