If Someone with a huge financial backing was able to form an organization were you would sign boxers into this organization on yearly contracts

when they sign this contract they can only fight in matches sanctioned by this organization which will include belts (not sure how many per division)
being in this organization would guarantee some kind of health insurance for the fighters (which boxing doesn't have i believe)

this organization would also be structured like a league somewhat and would have championships of some kind or major events which would help eliminate the confusion of all the other stupid organizations within boxing...

by doing this if fighters liked the idea of it and slowly signed in this organization it would eliminate shitty promoters who ruin everything

im sure you could come up with more great idea's for this but i dont know all the specifics of boxing but im sure most of you see where im going...

it would create some kind of structure & security for the boxers... kind of like the nba, nfl, or mlb

    what do you think?

ive thought of something similar... you need a russian ogliarch to basically buy up the main sanctionining bodies to form one organisation. An independent organisation of refs is established, and a seperate one of judges is created, which decide themselves who refs and judges fights on a random basis without influence. All boxers who want to fight for the belt sign a contract that prohibits them fighting for other junk belts.

    I actually meant UFC :patsch

Im not hot on the subject, but I think all the fighters in UFC are signed to that Org, which controls all of the fights etc so in essence yes

if you sign all the young and up & coming fighters and guaranteed health benefits after retirement ... and maybe even get some of the major promotional companies on board in a fashion that it suits them i bet you could put it together

why do you think its lame?

i think it might help clear up the sport

but then you would still have the diluted problem... in 10 years mma will be like boxing with multiple big organisations with their own champions, like UFC and Pride.

Hey, Im just providing info, not stating it would work.

Impossible to do now anyway, and nothing is perfect, I think we have a had a good year, sure there were fights that should/could have happened that didnt, but fighters themselves have to take some of the blame for this, not just organisations and promoters :good

It would still be corrupt with fighter like Kimbo getting title shots and fighters like Mikkel Kessler and Guzman getting buggered over.

It would never work, considering a fighter like De La Hoya get's paid in ONE fight what the entire roster of UFC makes in 2 years.
(When you = Payday with entire PPV revenue ect...)

An organization would prob never work in boxing, it's too late.

but im saying.... it wouldnt be the exact ufc format

ppv's would still be in place

there would just be an organization to

    - controversial bull****
    - make good mandatories
    - ensure fighters health in retirement
    - eliminate all the sanctioning bodies

if there was something like that that signed up all the young up & coming fighters maybe it would be possible

Exactly. Such a situation works where it serves everyone's common interests.

As soon as people perceive that their interests would be better served outside the organisation it splinters.

Why would the big money-earning boxers join such a set up? You're asking them to take a big pay cut in the interests of more competitive fights (but they can already get the fights they want...) and, errm, health insurance.
