He said Jones was his last fight then he retires undefeated.

They made a joke about him coming back after retirement for 20 million and he said that for that much he would fight anyone.

Then he restated that hes definitely done.

Why not retire? Public demand was very high to unify vs. then-undefeated power-puncher and best US pro from the 2000 Olimpics, Jeff Lacy, who was a 3 to 1 favourite coming into the fight. People said Calzaghe is old. But he unified in style.

Then the public demand became enormous when Kessler KO'd Siaca and Beyer for the WBA and WBC SMW belts and beat the holy crap out of Andrade for the historical SMW unification bout. Again some said Joe is good, but too old for the bigger, younger, hungrier, more powerful Kessler. Joe once again unified and made history vs. the young champ. He did something Hopkins failed to do vs. Taylor.

Then public demanded a fight outside of Joe's backyard, vs. a 'legend', a legitimate P4P-er, and he defeated Hopkins in Nard's home country, crowd, judges, division to get The Ring belt.

Now all Calzaghe is doing is to fight for the big money vs. a legend-over-his-prime then ride into the sunset.

There's always another fight, but at 35 - at the age Roy was already KO'd twice - Joe can say he has done enough and it's time for the retirement. His health is an issue, he hurts his hands every 6 months - and why stay? He did his part vs. every kind of competition and titles.

If Joe and Uncle Fester both win then the money and demand for it may prove too much to turn down for one last fight.

I really hope that's the case.

If that's the case then good ****ing riddance. His zero means very little to real boxing fans.
