    no he was not a god...he was superior.

    Leonard was a bad mother****er. He had everything a great fighter needs, wants, and dreams about.

    he made damn sure that he deserved the title "SUGAR RAY"...and no one can argue bout that!!!!!

    I've been watching boxing since the early seventies, and he is the best fighter of my lifetime.

    he's the only fighter who I would say has a good chance (over 25%) to beat SRR.

    Got a gift in his Draw with Hearns
    Almost got knocked out by Donny Lalonde
    Got schooled by Mavin Hagler
    His early fights were against overmatched opponents.
    Got schooled by Roberto Duran in hte 1st fight.
    Throw the 2nd one out.
    Good fighter.
    Great fighter ?????

    He is the greatest fighter of the post Ali era nobody else even comes close, not roy jones or mayweather or holyfield or hopkins none can compare to The Great Ray Leonard

    KO'ing Hearns in fight # 1 was the night he officially became a bad ass. My dad was big fan of the 20's-50's fighters. He would say stuff like "Joe Louis, SRR, and Marciano would pick their teeth with the likes of fighters like So & So." Two fighters from later on that he really appreciated were Leonard and Ali.

    Leonard was a great, great fighter. The constant retirements were frustrating, but he proved himself the greatest P4P guy of his era and beat everyone he needed to beat to establish his greatness. The first Leonard-Hearns fight was the one that really made me a hardcore boxing fan.
