Just how did Benitez beat Duran..And I believe Duran Fought a great fight!

    Hey Southpaw! I'm a lefty too, boxed a little amateur but never could obtain that 'numbing' right hook. They should have converted me to a rightie. :D
    We were so pissed off that afternoon when Mike beat Eddie. We felt he betrayed us with his preparation (or lack thereof). If you've read any of my posts, I tend to dwell on many fighters that 'could' have been much greater if their head was screwed on straight and Eddie surely:D fits that bill. Keep punching!

    It's not revisionist history because those who do think it was close at the time of the stoppage are in the clear minority. And as I pointed out in my previous post, a competitive fight is not the same as a close one.




    And you're citing age as if that alone determines a fighters prime? With Benitez, of all people? The guy who'd been boxing as a pro for six years by that age, and who had beaten Antonio Cervantes at 17?

    Ice won out over fire...Benitez just had Duran's number. I think Wilfred was just brilliant that night.
