Just how good is Kovalev?

^ Not putting 100% into a bloodsport is insane. You can literally get killed, as we all know. I never understand these guys who operate like this. Especially when matched with an opponent who has been putting his opponents out in a few rounds or less...

 

destroying a guy like Clev and taking his title is a big deal regardless of what you think about him. hes gonna crush a lot of guys in the future. he is gonna be fun to follow

 

I liked the look of him. He looked very comfortable and very solid and obviously has enormous power. The only thing yet to be discovered is whether he's packing some china.

apparently he never has been down in over 200 amateur fights and Russians usually have solid chins so I don't see his chin being an issue, he's gonna be a superstar

 

I don't think he's a one punch knockout artist but he's extremely heavy handed. In some ways he's like George Foreman in that it's not one shot, he just keeps firing away with power shots and there's no respite.
He also like Foreman badly hurts fighters with what appears to be mistimed or just glancing shots.
Even in the beatdown he put on Cleverly he didn't seem to land all that cleanly yet Cleverly was on ***** street.
He's has good all round skills although when he puts several shots together he does quite often leave himself open to counters but opponents are too busy taking evasive action or covering up to capitalise.
We still don't really know what his whiskers are like but who cares irrespective he's exciting and good for boxing

 

kovalev will put WBO belt in his trophy case and collect all the rest of them, just like he said.

 

I'd like to see him fight Ward. If he gets too bored at LHW - then I think he'd have no problem in Cruiser
