Vastly improved under Garcia, styles make fights with floyd, Pacquiao would have a relatively easy time against him for example whereas Canelo would be a tough fight for manny.

Good enough to kick Mayweathers a$$ with an honest referee but Vegas officials gave Mayweather another biased decision. Was not given chance to fight in rematch by Uncle Kenny Bayless. Made Floyd :|:| "He roughed me up & bullied me"
    Good fighter

He's a good, exciting fighter. He's limited in regards to movement, but always puts on a show.

Because styles make fights? On paper, Maidana is made for Mayweather. Mayweather is just overrated.

Marcos Maidana is a decent fighter, a very large welterweight who uses his size to bully opponents. He is, however (in my opinion) being strongly over-rated as of late. His style gave Mayweather problems, but aside from that he has lost every time that he stepped up his competition. He does well against guys with a similar style to him, but was comprehensively outboxed by Devon Alexander and Floyd Mayweather - and Khan was beating him wide til he got hurt....which shows that Maidana is always dangerous cos of his size and power, but he isn't the world beater that people are making him out to be since the first Floyd fight. He has made improvements with his new trainer, but it's fundamentally still the same come forward bullying type fighter.

No diss to him though - I have him a top 10 WW - maybe around 10 though.

I'd like to see Maidana vs Garcia or Pac. I really enjoy watching him box since he's been with Robert. After the two big paydays he's been pretty inactive. Haven't heard him mentioned at all as a potential opponent.

He comes from a rare class of fighters that rise to the occasion, and dedicate their all to the important fights in their lives. He didn't have a proper camp/trainer when he lost to Devon and Khan. Once he had money to hire a quality trainer, he dedicated his all to the craft of boxing and became pretty damn great. He beat the **** out of Floyd in the most crude yet effective way possible, because he went "do or die" in their fight. Many fighters that people rate much higher can't say the same thing.

He's one of those guys who gives most fighters a tough fight in most any era.
