Why such anger? No, I think McCallum was very good. I also think he was past his best ( even he says so ) and drew with a prime James Toney which shows Toney's placing as boxer. It looks like you agree with me. " Getting a draw against even a 35 year old Mike McCallum, is NOT evidence that you’re not a great boxer " - Loudon,

We are square on that point.

McCallum didn't move the needle much in this thread, so why are you so upset? He did in fact lose to the best 5 fighters he beat fought.

If you interested, I think his best win is a narrow one over Kalmabay, who he also lost to.

If you read this thread I'm okay with a Toney fan even you supplying a card for Tiberi for the data in this thread. I think Tiberi beat Toney, don't you?

Good riddance. Ie, you know I'm right but it bothers you to accept it. And since you are not reading others do agree with the facts and points I made. There you go again twisting words. I have done these thread before. The Joe Louis v.s the best men he fought on the score cards was a pretty good thread. :)

I said I'm willing to use a Toney fans card on Tiberi for the purpose of this thread.

Do you think Toney beat Tiberi? Yes or no What is you scorecard here?

Right now Toney is -16 rounds on the score ecards vs. the six men listed at 160-168. Point being he not that good of a boxer. Contender types and older men ( 35 ) were close to him.

If you want to duck out of answering who do you think won between Golovkin and Canelo in the first fight, that's on you. I have 60+ media cards and punch stats that show the judges official call is a bad one.

Yes, a very memorable thread absolutely nobody remembers.

    I say:
"If you think that running off a scorecard with punchstats is in any way reasonable, allow me to disabuse you."

You said "It's pathetic and wrong to use official data in analysis?"

Now, first, i'm not sure "official data" is reasonable when referring to punchstats, but forget that for the moment. Either

    a) You're so stupid you can't tell the difference between "running off a scorecard with punchstats" specifically and "pathetic and wrong to use official data in analysis" or

    b) You're on the wind up.

Either way, i've no use for that.

Read the above. Don't you understand or see the problem? You'r fighting an opponent who isn't there. I'm saying watch the fight. I'm saying if you can't be bothered to watch the fight, shut up. You don't know how you feel about that fight. YOU might score it for Toney. But you can't be bothered to watch it. However, you want to continue to run the fighter to hand down and argue with the poster to hand - so you google "PETER VERSUS TONEY ONE PUNCH STATS" and "JAMES TONEY BOXREC" and then use THAT information to oppose the scorecard of someone who has actually watched the fight.

And you can't seem to understand the problem.

Why don't you use Eye On The Ring?

You've been using that a bit lately, Eye On The Ring, talking it up as a source, haven't you? Independent of the forum, etc.? Surely that's better than just "using a Toney fan's card".

    https://eyeonthering.com/boxing/james-toney-vs-dave-tiberi

Split, absolutely 50.50, down the middle. 50% of people agree with the official scorecards. One of the biggest samples of cards i've seen on the site, too.

So go on. Explain why using Eye On The Ring isn't a good idea this time?

If there's one thing I love about this forum, it's the open-minded acceptance and letting sleeping dogs lie without dummy-spitting contrarian spite. I love that we have none of that.

Gladly. I do like eye on the ring in fact I tipped you to it well before this thread.

In this thread, in order be be viewed as impartial I am using the middle official cards, and offering a Toney fan to show me his card on Toney vs Tiberi, for the official data as no one here really thinks Toney won that fight. That's why. I want the data to come from ESB on that point. Make sense?

On eye on the ring there are lots of Toney fans, and zero Tiberi fans. If you think Toney won that one, I'd laugh at you. No one would take your ability to score a fight seriously. For example even Loudon thinks Toney lost that one.

I know you don't think Toney that fight, just saying.

However if you or someone else sure can log on to eye on the ring under a different name and say see here, some people think Toney won that fight and be one of them without risking the reputation you built. A scorecard with a name attached to it is different.

So in this case I'll use ANY Toney's fan card at ESB, barring alts or seldom used accounts.

    It’s not even anger.

    It’s just sheer disbelief.

All you do is focus on the negative things.

You don’t even try and look at anything in its entirety.

Every time you mention Toney you focus on his struggles etc.

Not once do you note that he beat Nunn and McCallum, who beat MANY world class fighters between them.

Not once have you given him credit.

Not once do you note that he crushed a guy like Tim Littles in just 3 rounds.

You don’t even know who Tim Littles is.

    Riddle me this, genius:

If Toney wasn’t an exceptional fighter who could only get a gift win over a C class MW, then why the hell didn’t he get slaughtered against world class CW’s and HW’s, when he was out of shape and past his best in his mid 30’s?

If he wasn’t good enough to beat Dave Tiberi in his 20’s, why wasn’t the likes of Jirov and Peter absolutely mangling him beyond recognition?

He was obviously a much better fighter than what you give him credit for.

Dave Tiberi’s wife and kids don’t talk about him as much as what you do.

You need to see a psychiatrist.

That man has taken over your life.

I know the founder a bit (Was on here for a while), have been reading up there for years. Thanks though.

 Mendoza, don't be ridiculous. You are years beyond that. Everyone knows that you opened this thread because Toney thrashed GGG in the Toney v GGG poll thread and that the entire purpose is to paint Toney in the worst light possible. Do you understand? Everyone knows that.

No. What would make sense would be for you to score the ****ing fight. You have been talking about this fight for weeks now. Weeks and weeks. You could have watched it ten times, watched it intently six times, scored it four times. But no.

 there it is. The reason EOTR was good, useful, when it coincided with your wishes but is no good when it doesn't. So you've dismissed EOTR as a source any time the more popular fighter is the controversial loser. Ridiculous, but let's see if you can martial it consistently.

And here you are, at the bottom of the problem once more. "I'd laugh at you."

YOU might score this fight for Toney. YOU might be with the 50% of the people on EOTR that score this fight for Toney. YOU might have it a very, very close win for Tiberi and therefore a reasonable decision. You don't know. Because you won't watch it.

Speaking very generally, you don't appear to watch much boxing.

So you have: the fight fixed; anyone who thinks Toney won it, you laugh at them; you apparently think a close card is impossible. And you haven't scored it. In fact, you are basing all of this - all of these extreme claims - on having watched it "live" decades ago.

The fact that you appear to know you won't score it for Toney - that it is impossible for you to do so - tells me everything I need to know. You're right. It is impossible for you to think clearly about such a thing. You're too biased. If you watched it and had it 114-113 Toney, I'm absolutely sure you would lie about it.

    Let me help you out.

1 ) People remember the Joe Louis vs his best opponents thread. You sure as heck do. I do, and all the thumbs up in that thread likely do as well. Should I bump it for you? Bottom line, Joe Louis had issues and in a round lost to rounds won sense was in fact in the negative column vs the best he fought, and no I'm not using the Maricano fight.

2 ) Score cards and punch particularly those in a round by round format matter, as do media cards that refute bad decisions. After all this is 3rd party data, not fanboy data. I can use my own data if needed. I'm asking anyone here who is a Toney fan to post their card. No one has and went over this in detail.

3 ) I am perfectly fine scoring a fight and putting my name to it. My cards are solid. No one ever said differently and I do call out the BS cards, as I think the sport can suffer from bad judging. An example would be Fury vs Wilder 1, what a BS draw.

You are so wrong on this topic its not even funny. I watch plenty of fights. My private collection is probably better than 95% of the people here. I saw both Toney vs Peter fights, even won a bet on over SuzieQ, if you care to remember. Peter won the second fight cleanly, the first one with a quick point deduction from Peter was closer. IdDo know how to search for older posts, if you need proof to show I'm right and you're wrong, just ask. :nonono

You have no clue as to which fights I have seen in general, so stop saying it, and don't use examples of what I have seen. That is to use your words up in the wind.

Your turning into a stalker of mine, and using bad language. Like I said before I can contradict you with your own words', turn you into a sensitive cry baby over boxing, and I pretty much guarantee you have been watching boxing longer than you have. All facts.

You are unique in you own way. Mickey Walker among the top heavyweights of all time? Tell that to any serious fan or historian and they will laugh in your face, and think your either a bad fanboy or don't KSAB.

For my next thread why not great Scottish heavyweights? :) We might even agree on one or two, if there are any.

I have literally no idea what you are talking about and have no idea why you are going on and on about it in this thread.

You are arguing against a scorecard, you are claiming that it is "off" when you yourself may score it the same way as the person you are criticising. There is no worse type of poster on this forum. There is nobody less helpful, more divisive, or more ridiculous. You are martialing evidence for what you want to be true, without even bothering to find out if it is what you believe. It is the absolute height of dishonesty in the discussion of boxing.

All this can be true and the way you have conducted yourself in this thread, and others, is beyond ridiculous. Arguing forcefully for a fight being fixed, for another poster being wrong about their score, etc. etc. etc., is completely beyond any defence when you haven't scored the fight. You have literally no base, no motive, apart from wishes.

Seeing a fight and scoring a fight are different. In another Toney thread this week you have been demanding another poster produce his score of a certain GGG fight. The poster tells you he hasn't scored it. You tell him, i'm paraphrasing, "you don't need to score it to know who won."

Because for you, who you want to win, is who won.
