Hard to get a handle on him as a middle as it was only around 25 fights he had at that weight. Although he achieved his greatest success at 160, he was a far better welterweight than middleweight. He was a small middle - only around the 153 lb. mark. At welter he beat guys like Tiger Wade, Al Manfredo, Jackie Burke, Baby Joe Gans, Kid Azteca, Young Peter Jackson and gave Henry Armstrong and Barney Ross some merciless evenings.
