At his best he was fringe World level, could bang quite hard, good body puncher, huge heart and underated boxing skills, which he employed to fantastic use in his war vs Matthew Macklin (ending in a late ko win for Moore).

In his earlier days as a British/Commonwealth champion he seemed somewhat fragile and vulberable, to both body and head. But as time went on his resistance seemed to improve, only waning again at the end of his career when he was extremely tight at the weight and past it. He showed in the Macklin fight that his chin wasn't that bad, and he was never really troubled by body shots after his stoppage loss to Dixon.

What should be one of his best wins is rather strange though. He easily outboxed Sebastien Lujan at a canter, and Lujan just seemed to accept that Moore was going to win wide on points and let that be that. Strange from a fighter that you'd normally expect to give his opponent hell and made them work tremendously hard even if they are on another level to him technically. But it did once again showcase that Moore could box very well when he wanted to and was just the brawler he may have appeared at times.

In winning the British/Commonwealth/European titles he achieved to about his level, but unfortunately for him he really should have got a craic at the European title earlier, when he was ready for it. If he had done he'd probably have got himself a World title shot at some point as well. He was never going to be the best Light-Middleweight in the World, but Baysangurov's team jumped through hoops in order to avoid facing him. I think that's a good indication of the kind of talent Moore possessed and how dangerous a fighter he was. With his heart, power, and experience in tough fights, Moore would have been a dangerous assignment for any fighter at 154 from 2005-2009.

Domestic scene he dominated and when fully fit and in prime he was a force to be reckoned with. He probably spent to much time domstically sadly and didn't get the push towards world honors early enough and when he got close it all fell away quickly.

It's a career of what might of been and he'd of caused many of the world champions problems and even picked up a world title in his prime.

The Macklin fight was amazing, brutal war. The Jones fights were good as well.

I was looking at Sebastian Lujan's record the other day and remember Moore beat him. Lujan is a world level operator and Jamie dominated him with ease.

Fringe world class fighter who had a brilliant fan-friendly style. His war with Macklin is the best domestic fight of the past 10 years IMO. It's a pity he stayed at 154lbs for too long, draining himself for years seemed to be his downfall.

With more competent management and not the ''let's wait for a weak champion'' approach he'd have done something.

By the time he finally looked like getting a crack he was on the downslide and struggled with the weight too.

The last fight he had was sad to watch, he'd have shredded the opponent a year earlier inside two or three rounds, instead he was being hit regularly with hard shots and towards the end just knew it was up and didn't want to be there.

Managed to beat some really good fighters, most of whom are pretty underrated it has to be said.

    Hell of a fighter.

Fringe World Class doesn't quite sum it up or maybe I'm biased, I think in another era he'd have been World Champ.
