Great fighter, great lad. Never dodged anybody. Restored ALOT of pride in the British title IMO. Too many young lads don't bother fighting for it, if they do they're happy to vacate ASAP. Moore got his hands on it, chased Jones for a rubber match when he lost it on a DQ, won the lonsdale out right, and went beyond the call of duty in taking on Macklin. He already had the belt for keeps, but didn't want to vacate to the up & coming kid. One of my favourite British boxers of recent times!!!!!!
as a side note does anyone know what happened to that "the fighters champion" (not sure if thats what its called) film that was getting made about him??
Really solid fighter, and more importantly the guy gave a ****. Always wanted to win and always earnt his purse. Even the Internet hate machine would struggle to say a bad thing about him.
A true warrior, gave 100% everytime. I think that Jamie Moore was let down and should have been moved on a lot earlier, he would have won a World Title for sure...:yep Jamie Moore had the dedication, determination and discipline and is a role model that every domestic fighter should aspire to be...:yep The humility and respect he showed against Ryan Rhodes was exemplary...:good Jamie is now a great refreshing pundit on Sky who gives a fair and honest view of how things have gone, he should be part of the team every week...:deal :bbb :bbb :bbb JAMIE MOORE :bbb :bbb :bbb
Hey fella's, thanks for the top comments, really means a lot. It's weird reading peoples assessments of my career when it feels like its only just over, but i'm so proud that everyone holds me in high regard, because when I turned professional I said I wanted fans to say after my fights that, win or lose, I was always in a good fight. Job done. Loving the sky work, long may it continue. Thanks again fella's. :good
He was a good fighter who was getting close to world level. I think he had the beating of Rhodes but his punch resistance seemed much lower and I think he was done. That is sad because I think it was at that stage where he may have been at his best mentally and stylistically, just not physically.
Strange end to his career in a way because he looked an absolute monster In those last couple of fights before Rhodes, he was huge, and definitely world title calibre. Against Rhodes I knew straight away he wasn't quite right, it looked like he just got too tight at the weight in the end, so his physical peak seemed to last a very short time. All that said he was a punch away from stopping Rhodes in that last round, that was an epic fight. He's got about half a dozen incredible fights on his ledger and has always carried himself with class, I also have it on authority that away from the ring and cameras he's sound as **** too. And he's from down the road from me, if he was from L/H he might have just had that extra toughness to be a great
No two ways about it, Jamie was world class! Just very unlucky not to get the world title fight, I have no problem in saying that Jamie would have beaten Yuri Foreman all day long, It didn't help that he didn't have a powerful promoter pushing him in the right way, If he had that I fully believe he would have won and defended a world title, his talent and fighting ability coupled with his heart were never in any question for me, I would also like to wish him so much success in the future as he is a great lad with a heart of gold!!
