He was well past it when he lost to Mora it must be said. The Mayorga criticism is valid though, thats an illustration of how by tough standards he was fairly easy to knock out of his stride. If you imagine him against great pressure fighters it doesn't look too good. H2H and accomplishment wise, he can only go down as one of the better welters of his own era and no more.

like i said, his lateral movement was lacking, and that showed in his loss to Mayorga I would say

I believe in an interview with Ring Magazine a few months ago, Shane Mosley said the hardest he had ever been hit, was by Vernon. Guy could really crack.

The same Mayorga who has given some ATGs and other useful fighters very good fights???? Forrest is no ATG, but definitely one of the best 147lbers of the last decade.

Teeto, I agree; Forrest was very straight-on, and only stepped back under fire. I would say top-notch offensive fighters with good head/upper body movement would be the best bet to beat him convincingly.

Forrest was very good, much avoided. Injuries late on didn't help. He would have given may weather problems with his jab and range. The guy was kryptonite for Mosley but mayorga put him straight twice. Styles make fights and would have like to him up against some of the other big guns and 147 at the time
