Just how great was Rigo's win on Saturday?

Epic, Historic and unforgettable win but to us Cubans who know our fighter's capabilities this is really no surprise. What Rigo did Saturday night just makes Floyd and the rest " drool over " and dream about.

You see, what Donaire didn't know ( or perhaps disregarded ) is that Rigondeaux was considered the P4P best amateur boxer in the World for his entire career that lasted about 8-9 years. That's why it was a mismatch and a real mistake of Donaire underestimating him.

Floyd and the rest, take note of what boxing is all about!

a brilliant win for rigo (i was picking him before, by stoppage, but wasnt confident...i only say that so that my next comment isnt coming from a donaire fan only point of view)

rigo won a great tactical battle and he won it well.

but...that was not a schooling.

 

This fight wasn't a fake mega fight like Calzaghe v. Jones, or Mayweather v. Marquez. This was a legit mega fight between p4p'ers and champions unifying the belts. Both parties were game, in prime, and unifying the titles. It was a mega fight, something that I marked on my calendar to watch. Surprised they only got a $2m purse.
