half a dozen knockdowns and a stoppage was pretty good especially considering that both fighters were undefeated and were champions. alot of so called experts had Mayweather losing that night ....
Great performance, he was the underdog because he hadn't faced a lot of big name competition before this fight. Diego was a KO artist and was marketed as a destroyer. It was reasonable for PBF to be an underdog because there were still a few question marks. To be honest though, Diego corrales had a ot of personal **** going on and faught a pretty crap fight. He threw **** all leather.
He was brilliant in that performance. Regardless of Chico's condition in that fight, he'd never have had an answer for Floyd. Maybe the weight-draining did effect him, but so did Floyd's arsenal. Whether he was weight-drained or not, he showed zero ability to cut off the ring or put combinations together(or even a decent punch) on a moving target. In other words, yes Corrales was pretty much tailor-made for Floyd, but Floyd showed his ring generalship and overall skills that night moreso than pretty much any other, though he had some great performances at 130. At 130 I'd probably pick Floyd over anyone that's fought at the weight. However, it's when his fans get confused and think the Floyd of today(or the higher weights in general) is the same as the Floyd in those days that I get irritated.
It's the truth what a performace that night he dropped him 5 times and schooled him. He ruined Chico.:smoke
