Just how much do y'all blame and consider responsible AJ corner for the DD disastrous performance?

I don't know what happened. I've never seen AJ's defense be so poor. DD was just going forward throwing bombs and AJ was leaning back hands down. Tactics completely off. I've seen AJ with a high guard before, why was he so against it?

Probably felt too confident after his destruction of Ngannou and thought the first right hand counter will set up the fight.

It's not his corner's fault that he got clipped in the first round. It was his poor defense.

It’s all of their fault. It seems to me that he had the completely wrong mindset going into the fight, thinking he was gonna go in, outbox this guy and look for the next big pay day.. in any case, he certainly wasn’t prepared to get hurt early and often and respond to that in a way that could have gotten him back into the fight. The tactics were off as people have mentioned, but I think they go hand in hand with the mindset.

I would have been alarmed if I was on his team when he and Eddie were smirking and cutting their eyes at one another during the face off.

Agree but greats most of the time have a celestial corner/trainer too

When you perform that badly there's plenty of blame to go round. With hindsight it was a amalgam of errors coming together to produce Joshua's worst performance to date. From the years of mismatched opposition that instead of just rebuilding his confidence, over inflated his confidence and blunted his edge to a trainer who gave him the wrong game plan and advice.

I get why his corner told him to go for broke and roll the dice because what he was doing wasn't working and Dubois was walking through him. I think he did need to do something to force Dubois back after he made the mistake of ceding the centre right from the opening bell. But to do it by being reckless and telling him to throw the uppercut was dumb. It was this advice that led to the KO, Joshua tried to throw an uppercut and got beaten to the punch and flattened.

Ben Davison is useless. Anthony Joshua has poor boxing skills for the elite level.

    Tough question to answer.

I actually think the call the "roll the dice" was correct because it worked initially. It was only required, of course, because clearly the dummy duo of Davison/Joshua developed nothing the past two years. Still, it worked, and it only stopped working when Joshua decided to throw a rear uppercut from a mile away right after getting buzzed by Dubois.

He caught Dubois with a great uppercut before being caught with an overhand right seconds before. Uppercut itself was not a bad advice. Thrown with with a proper angle, or while rolling a shot it can be devastating against somebody walking in with a double jab. You could criticize the corner for telling him to cross the right with right like Ezzard Charles did, because that's walking on a tightrope. Right uppercut counter was notable among Eddie Futch trained fighter, including Bowe.

And for the record you can keep put your right hand up while rolling if the opponent is trigger-happy and not requiring a dedicated invitation.

People were complaining about Robert Garcia high-guard Joshua as well I reckon. Truth is, every technique can be misapplied, misused, or exploited once predictable. With so many trainers, it's Joshua's fault for not shelling up when he ought to, not being defensively responsible, throwing an uppercut with his chin in the air and right at the centreline. It's as Freddie Roach said, trainers only get you so far. One of his boxers was worked on by Futch, himself, and one more splendid trainer and it was for naught.

You should train AJ next you would honestly be a better trainer for AJ than Lee Wylie and Ben Davison.

    Responsibles?

    Him.

You cant hold the head in that position knowing you have a wafer chin for five rounds. Too easy to hit for a puncher like Dubois.

The head in boxing gotta move and aim the target. Stop. And be protected of course.

Joshua was a forlorn figure walking to the ring with the same look as he had for Ruiz 1,as soon as I seen his ring walk I thought he’s not at the races tonight. Joshua had problems in sparring with a teenage Dubois and it was like the memory of it came flooding back and his mindset collapsed his recently earned confidence and he put in the performance he did. Teddy Atlas did a good interview about it all and certainly more in depth than I have mentioned here but we know Joshua certainly can let the occasion get to him and that’s what I believe happened in the Dubois fight. Any trainer even giving top advice has his hands tied when Joshua is in this sort of mood .
