he is strong (not 1punch ko strong) but he def fights a weaker mans fight by outboxing and potshotting aswell as not sitting on punches that land clean

its how he has remained so fresh after all these years at the top

One of his great strengths is his incredible stamina. So once a flurry of punches is over and someone else is tired from the exchange, Floyd still has the energy to work them over in a clinch. Beyond that, I also just think he's flat out one of the physically strongest fighters in the sport, pound for pound. You just don't see him get outmuscled in his fights and many have tried to make that happen in the clinches.

he's strong but not as strong as Chuck Norris. People use steroids to be as strong as Chuck Norris but no steroid is as strong as Chuck Norris.

we should compile his workout routine here..

but resistance-wise I've seen him do pullups, dips, weighted uppercuts, lat pulldowns, heavy bag, neck lifts...

Rarely do I see him work his chest which is why some of his earlier pics you can see his ribs poking out of his chest

After seeing how he walked down and clinched Shane? And a huge Ortiz?
    Impressive.

He gets the better of people in clinches because of how savvy and intelligent he is on the inside. Not because he’s stronger than them. He never normally initiates clinches, pushes people back, bully them around, etc. He just lets them come to him and then smothers, wriggles, pushes with elbow, and is just a general nuisance. And because he never lets the opponent – regardless of how big and strong he is – land or do anything effective, he [Mayweather] just appears to be physically stronger than he actually is. Like he reiterates all the time, it’s not about how strong and tough you are, it’s all about smarts.

Well Ortiz is about as big and as strong a welterweight as you'll find.

Also Oscar was a decent sized LMW.

The guy has basically ALWAYS fought bigger guys.

Pre Marquez not so strong but after that layoff he put all his time in getting stronger and bulkingup.
You could really see the effect of that in the Mosely fight, think he got tired of being bullied by the Baldomirs and Hattons out there.

I dont see any evidence of bulking up.

He was in shape and weighing about 150 on fight night before the lay off.

    Nothings changed.

He probably benches about 50 kilos. He looks very scrawny and weak to me. Certainly no more than 70 kilos, the weak dwarf ****.

chacha is some web site where you type in a question and it sorts through available information to give you an answer. Not always the most reliable but it usually does a pretty good job.

:deal Floyd has the best style because it doesn't matter how strong he is, he just knows what to do. You can stand inside with a guy who is much much stronger if you have good defensive instincts and feel like they can't do anything to you. (of course, this is a mistake if you are overconfident).

The reason he had trouble with Hatton in the clinches is simply one of physics: those little trex arms of hatton are actually REALLY much quicker than they look, he can punch straight inside and flurry and grab while guys with longer arms who are taller have to punch "around" the guy in front of them hogging the inside - Floyd's inside game actually works better against the bigger guys with longer arms, his punches are shorter, especially those crisp uppercuts from the philly shell - not quite as flawless against guys who punch just as short mechanically (the difference there is Floyd has long arms, so outside he's hard to match, too, whereas Hatton is screwed)

The strongest human being I have ever seen is Hassim Rachman: he trains like a powerlifter. Even past his best, he is enormously strong, stronger than anyone else I've seen in person. It doesn't always make a difference: he's already strong enough, he should have been training technical things at a certain point.

He was squatting with extremely high weight, benching and repping near 500, even doing pullups for near 20 reps, maybe more, something rare for a guy that big, but all that doesn't matter at the elite level.

There is a journeyman in Vegas who fights at light heavyweight, Carl Cockerham. He does all the explosive lifting and he is very fast to boot. An extremely genetically strong individual with a powerful physique, he is also pound for pound one of the strongest guys I've ever seen in terms of strength to weight ratio. He walks around near 200, 5'11''. Floyd humiliates him in sparring because strength simply doesn't matter with Floyd's style - he's strong enough.

journeymen at light heavy who are enormously strong can't touch him - he pulls out flawless victories over them because the differential in strength is negated by everything else.

This might have been when Carl was making 167, he normally looks bulkier than this:

Floyd is simply not even half as strong as him, but it doesn't matter.
Don't let his record fool you, physically he's a beast who toys with non medal Olympians in sparring. He can't do anything to Floyd.
