Look I am a Pacquiao fan but I can't see ahow anyone can say Algieri cleary won that he literally ran all night was badly hurt on a few occaisions not just in the first, think at the end of the 5th Provodnikov hit him with a left and Algieri was gone. Anyway Maidana has definitley done more in his career and for me would be the favourite if they fought.
Fights aren't scored on superficial damage, Algieri may have looked worse for wear but he outboxed Prov over long stretches, and won the majority of the fight. Coming forward and flailing your arms around and MISSING isn't winning. Maidana has more noteworthy wins, but Algieris performance over Prov far exceeds anything on his resume..
I am talking about cleanly landed punches that hurt the opponent. I felt Bradley beat Provodnikov and I would rate him above Maidana but no way is Algieri, on paper a better fighter than Maidana and Maidana's win over Broner is a better performance, also Maidana performed very well in the first Mayweather fight.
Why the disrespect for Algieri, why....he earned his right to fight any top tier boxer. In his weight class...ANY!
Mind debunking it then? :think What have Ortiz, Guerrero, or Maidana done that would triumph a win over Provodnikov?
This. I can admit that I actually am a really big Pacquiao fan I rate him higher as an all time great than I rate Mayweather but he is just talking rubbish.
***** was a hype job, Provodnikov would put that clown through hell and brutally KO him, Maidana did a nice job at exposing the hype job but it was going happen eventually. Maidana is not a great boxer..... He's a hard nosed brawler/pressure fighter but he struggles against anyone with decent ability, Khan despite his **** poor chin was able to box circles around Maidana, even dropping him with a body shot... I'm not a fan of Floyd by any means, but Maidana caught him at the end of his career and he still lost both fights convincingly. Who has Maidana beat???? Ortiz, Broner, Shot Morales, Josesito Lopez?????? Those are good wins, but by no means great. Quantity over quality, take your pick.
First off, who is Provodnikov? What has he ever accomplished that was noteworthy? Guerrero has wins over Berto, Casa and Salido. Ortiz has wins over Berto, Campbell and a questionable draw with Peterson. Like stated earlier, Maidana's dredging of Broner trumps Algeiri's win over Ruslan and he fared well against Mayweather in the 1st bout. What are you talking about?
Ok firstly, what has Provodnikov done to be rated so highly? I didn't see his fight with Herrera but he lost a razor tight decision there from what I have heard, he also lost to Tim Bradley, yes he dropped Bradley twice but so did Kendal Holt. Bradley was caught big deal other than that he punt on a clinic. As for Algieri I thought he lost his last fight and I actually felt Provodnikov did enough to get something from the fight without the knock downs. Ortiz, Guerrero and Maidana have all been and beaten world champions.
I'm as annoyed with Mayweathers ducking as any random featherplucker on here, but... You can't seriously compare the record of Maidana going into the Floyd fight with Algieris current one.:think Chino had proven on multiple occasions he could hang with the fighters at the top level. Should be zero doubt about who had done more. Not saying he is necessarily better at this point in time, but lets be real for a sec here.
Well Maidana lost to Khan, at a time Ruslan Provodnikov was not even considered to be at world level. Both fighters hve improved a lot since then. Like I have already said I felt Provodnikov clearly won his last fight and I think if he was more motivated he would win a rematch by T/KO.
