I like pacman but the last few fights have been against 'punchbags' as such. Should really fight a live opponent like Berto but its all about making money and unfortunatley Mosley sells. Pac wants to make money while he can, he hasnt got many fights left now

only this fight is awful, clottey was the only possible replacement back then and he did a good job vs cotto it was a good stay busy fight.
Margarito fight sucked because margarito didnt deserve it but he did outweigh pac 20 pounds end had the pressure style to catch pac eventually, which almost happened in round 6, it was a beautifull boxing performance from pacquiao. Only the mostly fight is a awful money fight. I hope it will get better after that.

wow the haters are pushing it now. clottey is a top 4 or 5 welter at the time when pac fought him. margarito had came prepared and looked more impressive and showed his heart against pac than at the time when he fought mosley.

and please don't forget that all that time, pac was pushing for a fight with floyd but floyd was hiding somewhere.

And it is the *******s who are making excuses?

    You stupid *****s are amazing.

Cotto, Margo, Clottey and Mosley happen to be 4 of the top 6 WWs of the recent era. The 2 others are Berto and Floyd. One of them is considered green while the other is yellow.

I personally would have liked to see Pac fight Marquez but guy is pricing himself out. Can't blame Pac for picking Mosley.

I thought the Clottey fight was reasonable at the time, I think its unfair to hold that against Pac too much. Clottey was a top 5 welterweight and had just come off a very close fight with Miguel Cotto, he had some decent wins before that, and he had never been dominated. Given Pacs recent string of opponents up till that point, I think it was understandable that when Mayweather wouldnt fight him, he could take a fight like this against a legit welter who had never before been really dominated, as only what, his 3rd fight as a welterweight, I just dont think the Clottey fight is that bad given the circumstances and available opponents around him. 140 was still working itself out, Mayweather wouldnt fight him, he just beat Cotto, and the only guy that he 'should' have fought instead was Mosley. That alone doesnt make it a BS fight.

Now, Margarito fight was bad..... and even then, it was, well.... let Pac take this fight and then his next fight he will fight a legit opponent. (and to Pacs credit, at least when hes fighting opponents he probably shouldnt be, like ALL fighters do, they outweigh him by 20lbs on fightnight)

    Now

With the Mosley fight having gone through, it has become absurd, not just because its a 40 year old who hasnt won a single fight in two years, not because this guy lost 35 minutes out of 36 to Mayweather, not because he couldnt beat Mora, not because hes being rewarded for all of that by getting one of the biggest fights in boxing against the p4p 'king',

but Bradley vs Alexander will be happening very shortly, and if Bradley wins that, he will be the #1 140lber in the world, and a legit fighter, who is undefeated, a champion, whos in his prime and who is coming off a big win.

Then you have Sergio Martinez, who would be more then happy to fight Pac.... A Martinez who is a top 4 p4p fighter in most peoples eyes, and who would be bringing untold riches to Pacs legacy should he win.

Now, you will hear the usual excuses by Pac fans on why these fights shouldnt be made, excuses that were usually reserved for Floyd fanatics.

At the end of the day however, this is the worst fight in Pacs recent career for quite awhile, not just because of his opponent, but also because of the available opposition a weight below him, and a weight above him.

Really dissapointing that Pac accepted this fight. As Pacs own team said, 'Whats the point?'

    Just IMO

Shane wasn't available during the time the Clottey fight was signed..

Honestly, I'm like whatever now with the whole Mosley thing, I can at least say Pac just got done doing a cleansweep of the welter division in 2 years, with the exception of Mayweather and Berto (it would have been more convincing if he took out Berto though). I won't be buying the fight though. Ill just torrent that ****

Clottey was ranked 6 in the welterweight division, in some places higher when Mayweather made up steroid allegatiojns to get out of the first negotions.

Margarito had no place fighting for a title, but had 17 pounds on Pac on fight night. He wasn't in the fight, but again, on paper - Should have presented at least a stern challenge after again failing to get Mayweather to sign.

    That said -

Mosley has NO place fighting Pac at this stage. A draw to Mora and a one sided drubbing to Money does not put him in front of JMM in the queue.

Very disapointed with the entire Pac team for taking this fight and he deserves the criticism he gets for taking it.

they just get worse and worse. cotto - looked bad recently but still had fight left in him, clottey - just lost to cotto who pac dominated, marg - lost his last real fight / had been out for a year since then and had looked bad in only fight since he got back, mosley - got dominated, then couldn´t beat mora

Here is the way I look at it. I don't think Shane is a bad fight,( he has a punchers chance) but I dont think he is a good fight either. After fighting Mosley there will only be good fights left. Berto, the winner of Bradley/ Alexander, even Floyd ( if he decides to fight again) I never heard Martinez say he wouid come down to 154. I thought 156 was his lowest. He would be to big for Paq anyway. I much rather see him fight the guys I just listed that are much closer to his size. At least he is staying busy and cleaning out all the big names at 147. I'm giving him a pass on this fight as long as he fights one of the guys I just listed next.

You are listing all the top fighters at 147 that are only being beat by each other.

In all honesty PAC's last two fights have been successful. from a numbers stand point...the Josh fight was whack b/c Josh came in looking to survive rather than win but marg and PAC put on a great show and it was very successful. Shane will be anther successful event but it won't do much for his legacy, however it will fatten his pockets which is always a plus. PAC should have faced Young Berto rather than grandpa Mosley but Shane does have a punchers chance.
