Not surprising to be honest. Khan has zero momentum going into the fight, he should have fought Alexander to make any proposed fight with Mayweather a more appealing fight for the fans. While Maidana is less of a threat, the win against Broner gave him more momentum, this sports all about what you have done lately and all Khan has done lately is get KO'ed, lose 2 of his last 4 fights and avoid a decent fighter in Alexander, very difficult fight to sell to casual fans.
He didn't even start negotiations with them to pull out. All he did was talk smack on twitter and keep Alexander's team excited and ready to negotiate only to pull out and continue dominating on twitter. I'm glad Mayweather is doing the same to him.
