I've always kept my mouth closed and breathed through my teeth :s Breathing through my nose doesn't seem to give me enough air. But then again my teeth are kinda gappy

This. Also 1. Remember balance is the first fundamental to learn. 2. Throw punches slow and perfect them. Build speed after technique. Power will come with proper technique and speed. 3. Start building cardio. Once you start sparring you will realize quickly how out of shape you are.
