I feel that Margarito is too loose when it comes to Cotto. I believe he is going to give Cotto way too much respect and it is going to cost him. I don't think he is going all out like he did with Cintron and others. To beat Cotto, you have to win as many rounds as possible unless his prediction of knocking Cotto out in four happens. I for one don't think so. Cotto should stop Margarito via cuts or UD.
Why specifically do you feel that way? Margarito said he was going to KO Cotto in 4, and that this was an easy fight.
My bad, I was intrupted over here. I meant to comment on that. Yes, this is towards the end to hype the fight. Someone has to say something to promote the fight. What, they are both going to be quiet until the fight. Fans love to see fighters actually hate each other and this is good marketing. I just think all the harsh words came at the end. Each time I see them together, it seems to me that Margarito has alot of respect not fear for Cotto. Cotto on the other hand is all business and Margarito is like fighting Paulie, Mosley, Zab, etc. They are all the same to him. Line them up and I put them down kind of statement.
Well he better respect him enough cuz Cotto will knock him out. As in Trinidad/Hoya fight there can be no mistakes on either end when two big punchers come together.
Yeah he respects Cotto, Margo isn't the type to talk too much **** about his opponents. But believe me, once that bell rings it's going to be a different guy in there.
I am not really into people talking crap. I prefer when they say: We are to warriors and we are going to prove it in the ring. It's called professional boxing. Then they can go and have some beers together.
I am going to knock you out in four is not talking ****? Again, he was probably told to say that to spice up the fight. I am not a fortune teller, but something is telling me that Margarito is not going to give 100% and he will say it after the fight. I hope I am wrong and we get a war, but I feel it will just be a battle instead.
:thumbsup This doesnt need it.Crap like Mayorga- Vargas for instance does, not this. No trash required,we can hardly wait as it is.:bbb :happy
Well said. This fight SHOULD need NO promoting or hyping. The boxing public SHOULD want this fight bad enough. Even if the two were lovers and kissing at the pressers I'd be dying to see the fight. **** all the squabling. Leave that **** to the WWF and UFC. This here sport is for real fighters. :deal
Actually, from reading some of the latest stories across different boxing news sites, I believe Margarito is on the border between very confident and overconfident. In one article from univision, he is saying that he does want this more and although he says he is not going to knock Cotto out, he says the fight will not last 12 rounds. He also said according to boxscene that the fight is easy and that he will expose Cotto's weaknesses this Saturday. I think that should give Cotto more anger in him to box the crap out of Margarito. It is just my thought but I think that is a light flavor of trash talk coming from Margarito. Cotto is a quiet champ out of the ring so it will be interesting to see how he responds in the ring on Saturday night.
NEVER. It is the fight game. You are not in it to be afraid of anyone. I just think he is going to give him too much respect in the course of the fight that it will cost him rounds. Everyone wants a war against these two fighters going as far as PR against MEX. Cotto is all business and Margarito is just another opponent to him.
I don't think so, I think we will see the same Margarito, but I don't think it will be good enough to beat Cotto.
Yes, all this light talk as you call it is coming towards the end. Especially the "I am going to knock him out in four" statement. One post said it all earlier. This fight does not need any trash talking or bad blood. Now that PBF is out of the picture, Cotto is considered the man at 147 and I feel this will overwhelm Margarito as he steps into the ring. The lights, the hype, the fighter...Cotto. This is what I am trying to get across. Not that Margarito is afraid, all the above and the respect he will have for Cotto will cost him.
