It's from an exhibition fight he had on April 2nd, 1966 in Anchorage, AK. It is signed "Charles Sonny Liston." It is notarized by a notary in Alaska and dated April 1, 1966, with a raised seal. After some internet research I found another copy of the same contract offered for sale on a couple boxing memorabilia auction sites, but this is a different copy from those... Also, from pictures of Liston's autograph it sure looks authentic to me. :happy
Some info I found said another copy of the same contract I have sold for $2183 in 2009. Pretty cool... It was given to me as a gift. :rasta
Yeah, many Sonny Liston "autographs" were signed by Geraldine, but those were at the ends of letters and certain printed promo photos... She didn't sign contracts for him, and this particular contract was signed and witnessed before a notary public. It has a raised seal.. I don't have a pic available of the exact contract I have, but I found a picture of a different copy of the same contract (not a "photo copy" but one of several original copies). I can tell it is a different copy because there are subtle differences in the signatures from the one in the picture and the one I possess.
