Of course not. It's not Arum's fault Clottey's trainer couldn't get a Visa. However, Arum didn't seem to care either. Do you really think he would let Pacquaio go into a fight without Roach? Hell no. He would've been on a plane trying to convince officials to approve a Visa. If that didn't work, he would postpone the fight. He's obviously not going to do any of that in this scenario because he only brought in Clottey to lose.

Sometimes Floyd is a ****-ass ***** who pisses me off...

But people like you who ignore all reality in an attempt to discredit him at all costs are even more annoying.

    Get a life son.

Depends on what's doable. But I agree he would probably postpone the fight. It's messed up he's not giving Clottey the same treatment.

This is a low risk/high reward fight. They are both Top Rank fighters and Pac is the cash cow. Those little things that promoters fight for to help their fight will not be afforded to Clottey. The guy has little head movement, he's a plodder, he has a low workrate, he doesn't have much one punch power, and he has stamina issues. This is the type of of fighter that Pac can excel against. Not only is Clottey at a talent and styles disadvantage, not only is his promoter working against him, but he has an understaffed corner, subpar sparring partners, he's working out in vastly inferior facilities, his longtime sparring partner and friend is now working with Pac, and he seems perfectly content with just getting a good payday. Clottey is the same guy who wanted to quit to play soccer. I question how much his heart is in this sport. You can bet your bottom dollar that Clottey will never win a decision in this fight. His only shot is a stoppage. What are the odds of that happening?

Roach has his US passport in order. Clottey's trainer, does not.

How do you know that Arum would be able to bribe US officials to get Roach a free pass.

the fight just isnt as compelling thats all....not all fights because Pac is in it will be mega fights...it takes two to do that and unfourtunatley the only fighters who could do that right now at this weight are Floyd and Mosley...this one really isnt anyonoes fought..its still avery good fight its just luck was not on Pac's side he had already jumpe the gun to Clottey Berto and mosley didnt fall off till later and Floyd got lucky and landed the fight..i think the cookie just crumbled this way but in no way is this anyones fault well besides the Pac Floyd fight not falling through.

Please stop putting words into my mouth. I never said Arum would bribe anyone. However, there is no way in hell that he would allow Pac to go into the biggest fight of his life without Roach. If he couldn't convince officials to grant the Visa by legal means, he would postpone the fight. He didn't postpone the fight here, he didn't even try to help Clottey get a suitable replacement. He's bascially left Clottey to fend for himself. I doubt he's visited Clottey's camp or even talked to him outside of the pressers.

I know exactly what he's trying to do. He has an argument laid out in his head. He wants me to say certain things so that he can counter with talking points he already has prepared. I'm not falling for that nonsense though. Arum is not a magician, and I don't expect him to perform magic. However, it's pretty evident that he's heavilly favoring one of his fighters here. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows damn well he wouldn't allow Pac to go into a fight without Roach, especially if it was the biggest fight of his life. Hell, he called off the Mayweather fight over a blood test.

this is what I see too. CLottey's only advantage is his size. But with an average training camp, the main concern will be making weight. Still a good fight to have and it will always be interesting with Pac fighting, but it's **** that Clottey has to go through this without his trainer.

No 24/7 plus two guys who don't speak english very well equal minimum buzz. Both are great fighters but lets be honest, they're not two of most engaging people you'll ever meet. It will be a big waste to trot to them out to all of talking circuits and thats the most effective way imo on selling these fights. You got to be able to promote yourself ala Mayweather. Love him or hate the man is great at marketing himself

Had the same thought. I've seen Mayweather/Mosley stuff on NETWORK TELEVISION in prime time all this week. Not a word about Pacquiao/Clottey.

Damn, imagine if this fight only does like 350-500k buys? I thought maybe 600ish but if it diips below 500, then that's a major blow to Arum. He's going to need Mayweather for the next big fight, and if the Mosley fight as projected makes anywhere near what it intends.. then he can't get 50/50. **** even if it makes 2mil. He might've shot himself in the foot. I haven't heard much of anything about this fight. ****, you don't even hear people on ESB talking about it much, let alone network television. :bbb

This fight will be a true testament to Pac's buying power.

Ultimately, it comes down to a simple truth: Mayweather vs. Mosley is a MUCH higher quality fight than Pacquiao vs. Clottey. The Pacquiao vs. Clottey fight feels scrapped together, weak promotion, and Clottey's predicament is a pathetic joke. He is absolutely set up to fail if the script plays itself out.

With Floyd vs. Mosley, it's a definitive classic in the making. Great promotion, great personalities, great styles. Everything is well put together and everyone can be sure of a compelling match-up.
