Just re-watched Froch/Pascal

I've watched Taylor/Lacy and Pascal/Froch back to back twice. I just don't see any other verdict than Taylor winning unless he gets stupid.

 

Fail.

Just because someone's black, it doesn't mean they're talented. Pascal is about on par with Evans Ashira.

He doesn't have that much power. We wobbled, but couldn't knock down Lafarrell Bunteng, who was destroyed by Anthony Hanshaw and Shannon Miller. He wobbled but couldn't knock down Kingsley Ikeke. Whoopee, he knocked out a guy who had already been knocked out by a few other less than stellar punchers. He doesn't have much speed. He doesn't throw straight punches. He doesn't throw enough punches unless the other guy is already throwing at him. It would take a lot more than a new trainer to turn Pascal into a champion.

 

Anyone with any degree of boxing knowledge (or physics knowledge, for that matter) will tell you that the wide, looping punches they were throwing in that fight are not as powerful as they look. The most powerful blows are short, straight punches, or hooks and uppercuts using the hips and legs rather than solely using the shoulders.

Froch and Pascal were windmilling their shots. Take swinging a baseball bat, for instance... if you stand stone still from the shoulders down and just swing it from your arms, you aren't going to transfer much power to the bat. That's why you plant your legs, rotate at the hips, and use your back muscles just as much as your arms when you're hitting the ball... physics.

Knowing how to throw a punch in the gym and being able to do it under pressure in the heat of battle are two different things.

 

Thanks for the physics lesson mate plus i like to think i have a certain amount of knowledge being i box myself and would be really impressed for the info..but...what im saying is i dont care who you are are where your from if you watch that fight there were some good clean hard shots thrown and they deserve a bit more respect from a key board warrior saying that two blokes fighting for a title dont know how to throw a punch....simple

 

couldnt agree more mate totaly and i think the fight in question did turn into a toe to toe brawl but to suggest they didnt execute any skills under the pressure of battle?

Froch say he only caught him clean once and that he slipped those shot. Pascal is faster than taylor but not as accurate
