He put a lot of pressure on himself with the very public (and deadly serious) 'bet your house on me' statements/promise before the Pac fight.
I wonder if anyone actually is living in a cardboard box off the back of that fight... If they are he has a duty to buy them a new house.
Hatton's quick feet and quick hands disappeared against Collazo. Too heavy. But still grunted it out. That was his only fight in '06 as well. That's bad.
If you are dumb enough to take that "bet your house" statement literally then you probably don't deserve to own a house (or even a cardboard box!!).
What if they got caught up in the hype, momentarily. Right after he said it. Then went and literally bet their house on it. I wonder if anyone actually did it. How would one go about betting their house?
He actually reiterated it though, again and again. It became 'your whole mortgage' in another statement, and he looked serious! The guy was quite disturbed from '07-'09 I thought, with all the third person **** as well etc.
Yep, they'd have to at least accept a downgrade in house for losing the bet. 2 bed council house in Liverpool.
Still, not really grounds for repaying ******s who DID bet their mortgage on a fight. I was certain that Katisdis would stop Mitchell but I only put on what I could afford to lose. He got into a third person "Ricky Hatton" thing but so did Roberto Duran, Lennox Lewis, even Junior Witter etc.....its not that big a deal IMHO.
How much of that was compulsory purchases? Its the same as PPVs, you don't like 'em? Then don't buy 'em?
We're just saying, its a bit harsh if some poor **** and all his family are eating out of bins and sleeping in Tesco's trolleys because of that statement by Hatton. Which he did put out again and again, he was begging people to put on that bet. Say something enough times and someone, somewhere...will do it. God their faces would have been a picture when he hit the canvas.
