MAn, Chavez was a true artist. The way he kept Rosario in the corners was masterful. The way he bobs and weaves 2 inches from his opponents face is godly.

His style was impetious, his defense was impregnable, he was ferocious, a conqueror, Chapo wasn't alexander, Chavez was Alexander the great!

Anyway, it's on youtube, the entire fight. Highly recommended, for those who want to see how skilled chavez was.

    THIS WAS VINTAGE CHAVEZ.

The greatest Mexican fighter of all time showing his complete blend of skills. That version of JCC along with Duran who beat Dejesus & Whitaker who beat Ramirez was the most dominant & unbeatable looking boxer at LWT Ive seen.

Tough, fast, strong, ruthless & endless stamina.

Hard to believe people even try compare Barrera to this man, Chavez was in a league of his own for yrs as he stood atop the boxing world as the best p4p fighter alive in the late 80-early 90s.

A true superstar & definite top 10 p4p all time fighter.

That is a real classic of the sport. It's not so much a give and take battle as Chavez was giving it to Rosario and Rosario was the only one taking it on that night. Walking into the ring, Rosario was recognized as pound for pound the hardest puncher in the division. Chavez either slipped or weaved or punched his way through everything Rosario threw that night.

I really love the Sugar Ray Leonard commentary on this fight. You can tell that he is enjoying the work of Chavez and is as enthralled by what he is seeing as the rest of us are.

I never understood how the power of El Chapo did not get to Chavez. Chavez looked good at the weight moving up and El Chapo could not land his big punches. Chavez swarmed him. Maybe had Edwin landed more body punches and tried to get more into his rhythm, but this was a case of a great fighter vs. a very good fighter.

A true Classic! This is a fight that displays the skills and timing of a boxing master. All the **** Chapo talked just to get his face reconstructed.

Rumor has it, Rosarios mom was a "santera" that attempted to put a curse on Chavez before the fight. Word got to the Chavez camp via a Spanish reporter, so Chavez showed up sporting a red headband for protection and to break the hex. Thats the origin of the famous red headband we see Mexican fighters sport (Segura, Margarito, Castillo...)

weird **** huh, it was on a Chavez documentary.

Chavez was so underrated in the skill department - both as an intelligent pressure fighter and boxer. NOT a top 10 ATG tho, by any means.

    One of my favorites.
Chavez was a master on par with Duran.
