The fight was over in the first round when Lacy landed his one good shot of the fight and Calzaghe just jumped all over him in return. You can see Lacy's disbelief if you watch closely. Lacy was used to intimidating an opponent when he landed flush, he could never handle someone handling his power. That exchange showed that Lacy didn't have even a puncher's chance.

There are a lot of sensible posts above but I think it's a fine example of a boxer completely dismantling a puncher like a bomb expert disarms a live bomb, except somebody left the instructions by the side.

Personally, I feel bad for Lacy that it was left to continue because he's a nice guy, but it was good for Joe that it wasn't stopped.

True. His KD in the 12 happened more by the fact that he was terribly out of it rather than the punch/push or whatever people want to call it.

His corner should have thrown the red towel in around the 8th.

every1z always sayin calzaghe slaps. lacy even sed that b4 the fight. but calzaghe got gloves on at the end of the day init.

the only thing that calzaghes opponents in the past have in common is that they all got there ass spanked with a big fat L.

If u can slap ur way to the top, keep your O, be undisputed champion, humiliate other fighters, earn a ton of money, have a hell of a fan base, and be recogizes as greatest super middleweight THEN Y NOT SLAP MAN.

    Hu can mess with that????

This was a crazy fight, for something that was meant to be Calz hardest fight, he simply destroyed Lacy, sight to behold!

Ouch! Thats a pretty depressing picture. Pisses me off when a fighter receives a beating and people take the **** out of them. (I'm occasionally guilty of this as well) They go through a lot for our entertainment. Lacy's career probably ended that night although I hope he has enough left to beat Tarver if/when they meet.

  13. Pretty much anyone has a punchers chance but I do wonder what if lacy hit Joe with his patented 'left hook'. I mean really look at history joe has taen BIG bombs, we're talking really big bombs and walked through them like it's a tea party.

Watch the Ried / Bika / Kessler matches, Joe was able to walk through those slugs without so much changing the expression on his face.

I honestly doubt Lacy could have KO'd Joe even if he hit him flush.

I hope i never see a hiding like it again, as someone said, the way Joe punches means he hit Lacy more frequant with sharpish punches that wouldnt KO him nor could KO him but did enough damage to him! Lacy was tough, but having seen him v Manfedo it was sad, he looke terrible against a very very ordinary fighter. I was just hoping for that fight to end to let PBF-Hatton on ta ****:)

Lacy got beaten pretty bad. i am a fan of calzghe's but i didn't really want lacy to get destroyed that much that it ruins his career to som extent. but joe had something to prove to the critics and he did.

havin felt said that, i know if som1 paid me a million pounds i would get into the ring we joe and take that xact beating.

we'll all walk away winners. i dont mind if ppl say im **** after that.
