Yes it was but it was one of the best boxing moments of the last 25 years. I thank him for doing it and giving me and others that great memory.:happy

The punches Mayorga ate in rounds 3, 5, 7 and 8 were UNGODLY. my favorite punch of the fight was an Uppercut in round 7 that just ****ing wrecked him.

Awesome fight! One of my favs b/c of Mayorga. I really hoped he was going to win and I gave him a slight chance.....but deep down I knew Tito would pull it out. I was just hoping he'd end up carrying his power up and catch Tito. Ricardo is one of my favorite fighters...he's an ass but he's funny as hell.:rofl

He couldn't make 154 to rematch Oscar 3 years before, so I'd say YES, consider also how he nearly decapitated Joppy.

Tito actually filled out to be a pretty solid MW. His frame, size and build suited him at 160 during that time.

He took the punches to the head well until Tito attacked the body. After that, the head shots finished him. Oscar vs Mayorga wasn't to shabby either.

100% agree! He was a legit MW at that time. With William he may have been still filling out but by the time he got in there with Nard he was a legit MW.

That is complete sh!t. Trinidad, was never the same at 154, forget middleweight. His prime was welterweight. At 147, he could do it with one shot, above that, it took alot.

No doubt Tito's PRIME weight was WW. But when he faced Mayorga Tito wasn't in his prime and he was older to where 147 was not an option. Tito was a pretty good MW.....in his prime he was a beast at 147.

Great fight, and so exciting that I don't think people paid attention to how Trinidad wasn't really back but just fought a very open target.
