So i managed to rewatch the mayweather vs mosley fight and here are some of my observations. I said before the fight that this fight would be one i expected mayweather to win handidly, but a few questions would be answered about PBF. The following questions in particular were the ones i was looking to be answered and they were indeed answered.

-How good is the chin of PBF? I think we can safely say that mayweather's chin can hold up to single heavy and power shots. However we can also reasonably say that his chin is not Granite and he can most definately be hurt by a heavy handed fighter. PBF's instincts and heart are definately Great though.

I believe also that Manny's chin is better than mayweather's. I conclude this from watching both pacquiao's fights with cotto and clottey again. Clottey would land 3 huge uppercuts bang on the chin of pacquiao rocking his head back and forth and manny would come back immediately with a huge flurry. Against cotto he took a few monster left hooks to the head but just shrugged them off. Mayweather gets hit nowhere near as much and the times ive seen him hit clean at WW he holds on, manny does not for any prolonged period.

-How hard does mayweather punch at WW? I'd say very good power at WW. Mosley is known for having that famous granite chin having been tested with huge punchers throughout his career. My reasoning is that, if mayweather can make mosley think twice he can do the same with pacquiao. Its more impressive because mayweather does not throw combinations much and stil manages to get the opponents respect. Pacquiao will have to fight a more controlled fight against mayweather to avoid being picked off. Mayweather does not have 1 punch power but can get your respect. On the other hand, Pacquiao can hurt you badly with either hand at any time if he lands clean.

-How fast is mayweather? Faster than pacquiao thats for sure. Mayweather is freakishly fast and is most definately faster than pacquiao. Ive said this before and will say it again, people need to watch a round or two of mayweather in slow motion to fully appreciate how fast the guy is. When mayweather says he can 'feel' when a punch is coming he really is telling the truth. Particularly in the reflexes and timing department mayweather is a street or two ahead of pacquiao. However because mayweather uses this reflex based approach he can be caught with quite solid shots if the opponent is very fast. But make no mistake mayweather is faster than pacquiao but i believe there is a possibility for pacquiao to overwhelm mayweathers reflexed based approach with feints and speed.

-Is mayweather a real WW? The definative answer to this is yes. Mosley who is a strong WW was being pushed backwards and muscled on the inside, and this is the shane mosley who out muscled margarito on the inside. Mayweather is bigger than pacquiao but at this point i cant say who will be stronger, probably mayweather considering the size difference.

With all the above considered mayweather pacquiao needs to happen even more than i though it did before. I now have mayweather winning a UD being a slight favourite due to being faster and having superior defence and timing, but pacquiao is the only one who can give this guy a real fight and vice versa. Pacquiao needs to train for speed and mayweather should train for power to put some hurt on.

What I noticed with the Mosley fight its hard to catch Floyd underneath or straight with anything. Anything inside his visual range which is better than most fighters or damn near all of them, you are not going to catch him good. The shots Mosley landed good were over the top right dead on the temple and Floyd still recovered from two hard temple shots. You dont see him get hit in the face even when dead in front of Mosley. Mayweather got a weakness but Pac with his short ass arms and his straight forward attack and his clown punching angles(none of which will get past Mayweathers defense enough) there is literally nothing he can do but take an ass whooping.

Observing that second right hand that buckled Mayweather badly in the second round, I noticed that he was hit almost behind the ear. That's one of those 'buttons' that when hit ANY person stands a chance of being KO'ed or seriously hurt. I'm even more impressed now by his resilience.

i just wanted to touch on floyd "feeling when a punch is coming".....

i think its something that most elite talents can do...i remember bonds talking about it(cue somebody mentioning steroids...with or without them bonds was an elite talent).....he said that he could see pitches coming before they where thrown....he talked about muscle memory...he could see the location if he was sitting on a certain pitch and he got it....many at bats...and many rounds of bp...same with floyd...years of fighting...years of sparring....hes just on another level

pac has been ko'd twice and really should have been three times. He has been badly hurt in several other fighters and Im pretty confident that Manny has never faced anyone that hits as hard as Shane. so Not sure how one could conclude that Manny has a better chin.

Im not sure that Floyd is that much faster then Pac if at all. I think that people mix up pure speed with reaction time. I think the most impressive thing that Floyd does is change speeds on his punches. He is like a baseball pitcher.

You like so many fell into the trap of thinking that only Manny can push Floyd. That is about as untrue as something can get. Manny has a punchers chance to beat Floyd and that is about it. Manny is abit of smoke and mirrors in the sense that if you sit down and actaully watched a collection of this fights you would find that as long as he is fighting someone that doesnt have very good defence, and counter punching he looks the the greatest fighter ever. But once you add one of those elements Manny starts to look very average. You add both Manny starts to lose. Its the reason that yoyu dont see him in the ring with highly skilled fighters ofter. Sluggers, with slow hands and Cotto.:good

I have no idea where people get this idea Floyd has a great chin. It's just not tested enough. Pac's KO wins ages ago are irrelevant now. He has proven he has a good chin now.

No one is saying Floyd has a legendary chin tempered by the fire, but he wasn't put out cold or floored by Mosley's 2nd shot which he didn't see coming. Most welterweights would have lost the fight there by knockout. Mosley is the hardest hitter at WW, so it's not reaching when people say Floyd has a good chin.
