My thoughts... - What a fight! One of my favourite ever. I had forgotten about it and just stumbled across it at the end of an old video tape. So glad I did! - Is there a better fighter in the world with over 25 losses on his record than Emanuel Augustus/Burton? - I thought Burton just about won it, even with the knockdown. I won't complain too much about Ward getting the nod, but one of the judges had it 98-90! That is ridiculous! Teddy Atlas at ringside had it 95-95. - As good as the Gatti-Ward fights were, I think Gatti-Augustus could have been just as good. - Punch stats: Ward Thrown - 1182 Landed - 320 27% Burton Thrown - 918 Landed - 421 46% This fight is what boxing is all about. Two guys who know they will never be the best, but give 110% anyway. Anyone who has not seen this fight, get it NOW! :good
Very exciting fight. I also thought Burton (Augustus) won the fight even with the KD. @ that judges score. What a shame. P.S. Ward also punched Burton while he was already down, taking a knee.
Emanuel had alot of bad decisions go against him. He is one of my favourite fighters, an exceptional journey man.
Emanuel Augustus did things in the boxing ring that no-one else has ever done. Supremely talented. Only ever seen Prince Naseem and Roy Jones Jnr come close to some of the **** he pulled off.
Ya, that fight took my breath away, and is one brick in a wall that is the reasons why ward is one of my fav fighters all time..

great fight....now that augustus' career is over, he can say that he fought in a fight of the year....great accomplishment
