Bit unfair on murray. At least murrays fighting guys with winning records. Hes taking potential bannana skins on. Whereas smith hides it out fighting guys with records like 18-18-2. Waiting out for one of his big oppertunities. With the exception of the first abraham fight hes never been competetive with anyone near the top level.
Murray stuck it out with golovkin and groves. The same cant really be said for smith. Murray far more durable.

It's crying out for a few commas that post, mate.

Murray will be kicking himself with his missed opportunities for world title glory. It was within his grasp, particularly against Sturm and Martinez. If that Martinez fight had been held in any other country, he would have got the win. He was good enough to win a title...Smith was not. They're completely different fighters. The only similarity they have is that they're both from Merseyside.

Top bloke is Murray. Doesn't deserve to be called a bum.

his european level that could have a go at world level but all he talks about is world titles just like smith with out earning it he signed with hearn fought trash got a title fight and gets beat he needs to forget about world titles stay a britsh level then fight at european level and earn another title shot and when he get another title fight he will be ready every fighter that signs with hearn fights trash skips levels and never win

He'd already earned his world title shots long before he signed with Hearn. He was a very highly regarded middleweight before GGG went to town on him. He's 34, got a couple of fights left in him, max...why on earth would he want to go down to British level???

Are you suggesting that Murray had his opportunities handed to him on a plate before he signed with Hearn...seriously? Of all the fighters to suggest that of, you pick him.

He was 23-0 when he fought Sturm. Had to go to Germany and was robbed. He was 27-0-1 when he had to go to Argentina's capital to fight Martinez for another robbery. When he thought GGG, Murray was considered one of the strongest 160's and GGG did what he usually does.

Not world class, simple. He is British level now.

Murray is shot now. I don't see anyone suggesting he's world level right now but at his peak he should have won a title.

He's way past his best but to call him a bum is silly. He was a good fighter and unfortunate not to have a world title. Not comparable to Smith what so ever.

He is past his best now but as a fan of Martinez who will surely go into HOF I thought Murray had him beat that night, so to me he showed at that point to be world class. I dont see him troubling world class now, more as a gatekeeper

IMO Murray should have been an undefeated weight champion when he faced Golovkin. Hes massively on the decline now though but stil doesnt shy away from challenges.

It's harsh to compare him with Paul Smith, he has been much more willing to take tough fights unlike Smith. I doubt Smith would even get in the ring with the likes of Rosado to be honest. I think Murray is shot at this point though.
