As a proud *******, hearing it from his own announcement..it’s hit me. I’ve actively followed Manny since 2004 when he fought Marquez 1 at the MGM. Walked in and paid 50 dollars to see a classic. What I watched next was absolutely amazing. Marquez came back and did enough to win and that match will be highly contested. He’s won some fights and he also lost some fights along the way. Watching him throw nonstop and knocking down opponents along the way. Just sheer brilliance. the 2 year layoff certainly didn’t help. If there were no such thing as Covid, we probably would have gotten Spence/Pacquiao a lot sooner. Wish he had just one more in the tank but I can’t deny that he iss a lot older and slower at 42 years old. He’s had a spectacular career. Hope he doesn’t **** away his earnings. I also hope he becomes president.
It's pretty amazing how much he has evolved. When he beat Ledwaba, I didn't think too much of him. Tough guy who can hit, can never beat the likes of Morales and Barrera, never mind DLH and Cotto. Every prediction I had for him except for Clottey and Margarito was wrong. I was Teddy Atlas for most of his career. He is a fighter's fighter, a people's champion and someone who makes you rethink when you doubt yourself.
