There's a difference between Pavlik who is big for middleweight cherry picking light middleweights to fight and Martinez who isn't a middleweight and just happened to dick all over Pavlik for his belts fighting guys his own size.

And really, if you think fighting Miguel Cotto is equal to fighting Rubio you're obviously ******ed. Maybe everyone's issue wasn't just that Pavlik was fighting smaller guys but that he was fighting smaller guys who were ****.

That PR paper never actually accused Margarita of being on steroids.

They simply stated that there was substantial rumors that he was on steroids and that where there is smoke there is fire and most likely he was on some steroids
Thats the jest of it....no blatant accusation though.

His promoter did talk about Bute, not Martinez. In fact, Martinez said that he's not interested in Bute.

You actually think this would be a winnable fight for Cotto? Seriously?

Cotto shows once again that he has courage and will fight everyone, and of course this fight would make a lot of $$$ for both fighters. But Cotto is probably going to get killed in there. Martinez is bigger, faster and an equally hard puncher, if not a harder one. Cotto is my favourite fighter, but he has very little chance of making it to the 12th vs Martinez, let alone win it.

It would be a good fight. I hope it gets made. I don't think Martinez would get a knockout. Cotto doesn't leave his chin out there like the Punisher. :deal

Yes, Cotto is technically sound he can box and has a great jab. Sergio isnt really a pressure fighter and I see Cotto hanging in there and picking Sergios flaws. Martinez isnt this indestructible monster they make him out to be and I like him.

Cotto is technically sound. And Martinez is in no way an indestructible monster. But he IS bigger, and faster and probably as strong, if not stronger. I don't see how Miguel can pick any of Sergio's flaws with those disadvantages.

Martinez is seriously lacking in the defense department and his speed is nothing to brag about...dont get me wrong i like martinez but this is not the mismatch everybody is making it out to be.

this is going to be good, Cotto has a real chance here too, becoming MW champ would be a huge accomplishment.

Really? Sergio has excellent handspeed. His calling card is his athletic ability, not necessarily his technical attributes. If he ever had world class training instruction from the beginning of his career, Sergio would be something truly special!

    Viva the southpaw Spaniard!

I respect Cotto for seeking that challenge. He puts it all on the line. A matchup like this would be good for the sport.

it will probably be at 155 or 156 for the middleweight title.
