I don't understand why people think Lewis was scared of a man he'd just beaten - and was walking through his punches at the end - after he got back in the ring with 2 guys that stopped him. One of them sparked him out properly too. I think - as he's pretty much said - he just thought "I'm too old for this ****".
:yep Sorry MO . Agreeing with you"re stupidity and being wrong is nothing for you to laugh about .:hey
Somebody should ask Lennox on his Facebook why he called Corrie Sanders, who he wasn't really even friends with, and gave him pointers and observations on Wladimir that most likely were his coaches, Manny Steward. Why was Lennox soo concerned about Corrie, who he new had freakishly fast hands and was a southpaw, taking care of his "easy work"??
No shame in that whatsoever. In fact going out on top is rare in boxing especially. Top 5 Heavyweight all time on most people's lists, top 3 on mine :smoke
the more b.s i hear from lewis..the more i dont respect him anymore..lewis face it..you where..and are..scared of vitali.,
Lewis was simply a better fighter than Vitali. He proved that when they fought but as any champion finds out when they quit on top, there is always going to be a next opponent in line who they'll be accused of avoiding. Marciano had potential opponents he was accused of ducking, Joe Calzaghe did, Lennox Lewis did. This is just the nature of boxing fans. They will always assume that when a fighter retires on the top, they did so to avoid their successor even when it makes little sense, as with Lewis and Vitali. Lewis was a better fighter than Vitali. At his worst, he beat a physically prime Vitali and then retired. He had nothing more to prove to anyone.
I used to be a big LL fan, but this is disappointing. LL agreed to have a rematch because the fight ended because of an injury. Everyone (Foreman etc.) said that Vitaly was on route to winning and that LL had a lucky escape.

I would agree with most of that except don't deny you wouldn't have wanted to see Lewis Klitschko II. Vitali wasn't in his prime but that fight helped Vitali find his prime. You have to fight the best to prove you belong there, and you can take it & give it back even harder. Vitali came back from that fight with an easy, hightlight reel KO of Kirk Johnson, the guy Vitali replaced in the first fight. Lewis did promise a rematch immediately following the fight while still in the ring. He also said he'd fight if Vitali beat Johnson. He's also entitled to change his mind and retire, which is what he did. Nothing wrong with that and in fact, it puts him in rare coimpany but you can understand why the boxing public feels a bit robbed right? Oh, it it would've been Lennox's biggest payday, or just short of Lewis Tyson.
