It should be noted that Pac got flashed at featherweight in a tune up fight, but in general his chin was solid.

Also, I think Marquez is someone who loaded up a bit more as he got older and couldn't string together the same types of combinations that he could in his youth.

...And, because Floyd (who wasn't 100 percent, either, in spite of a more favorable style) defeated a fighter who wasn't that far removed from arguably his second best win at 147lbs, I think it's a win that shouldn't be discounted entirely. There may be asterisks attached to it, but a win over the fighter considered to still be his greatest challenge is notable.

Unlike Gannicus, I don't speak in absolute terms on this topic. The most I'm saying is that it's a signature win- even though it's a signature win that could have meant a whole hell of a lot more under different circumstances.

I don't agree with the absolutes either. But I think in Gannicus' case his argument is that simply Pacquiao wasn't in his prime. And he's issuing an absolute on that stance. Which I think we can all agree on is correct.

Now what we haven't heard him discuss is the extent of Pacquiao's decline (in this thread yet) by the time he fought Mayweather.

And I think that's the debate here as it pertains to Pacquiao Mayweather. We all know Pacquiao wasn't in his prime anymore. But the debate is how far removed was he from it.

Oh, he was very obviously removed from his prime, and so was Mayweather. That's not in question. But they were both still quality fighters-and that's not something that should be questioned, either.

The question becomes their respective levels of quality and how they might have fared against one another at their very best. That's something that's been debated for years, and it ain't gonna stop any time soon. :D :good

This is what I don't understand..Why do people only talk about pac not being prime,(tinman)when in actuality it was a fight with 2 past prime fighters that blew the roof off of the box office.. Same with Lewis and Tyson ect...
