i just want to get it out there BEFORE the fight.

cause i wont give anyone full credit for beating a fighter aged 43, champion or not.

this wont be any more special than paul pender dethroning ray robinson at age 40.

should calzaghe lose however..............i guess i wont have to tell you what this will do to his legacy.

You're right. Calz SHOULDN'T get full credit for beating up a 43 yr old man.:-( Even though its an ageless Bhop, he is still 43. Catch 22 right there.

Calzaghe just turned 36. Plus, Hopkins is already a living legend and an ATG. Beating Calzaghe would be gravy at this point.

This post is complete and total bull****.

I don't think anyone is more convinced of a Hopkins victory than I am, but if Joe does manage to emerge victorious without any controversy it will be because he is the better man!

Hopkins is a freak of nature, and this idea that he may suddenly grow old overnight seems entirely implausible.

If Calzaghe does go on to win, I will be the first person to give him his due credit, because even at age 43, Hopkins is still one of the best boxers on the planet.

Actually, the age difference is 7 whole years. Hopkins born in 65 while Calzaghe born in 72.

I cant imagine what BHOP would do to JC if they were both 37.

This is true, in many ways this is a no-win situation for Calzaghe. If he beats Hopkins, he beat an old guy past his prime, if he loses, he lost to an aging great.

You are right of course and Hopkin's himself is making an issue of his age, but you guarantee it will be trotted out as an excuse by some should Hopkin's lose.
