Look how shattered (no pun intended) both he and Frank Warren look :-( [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wfL3OHmtmQ&feature=grec_index[/ame]
I'll never forget that night lol. But damn, he's almost about to cry there. But fair play to him for climbing back on his horse straight away. I remember at the time reading reports of him being back at the gym straight away, and Jose Sulaiman, the WBC president, saying:
I remember this even more [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry9iKFnJPq8[/ame] look at smug froch **facepalm** @ crackhead herbie hides reaction lol
Everyone is a genius in retrospect, Khan should have done this or that, but when you look at the reality of the situation he shouldn't have been fighting an unknown 19-0 with 17KO's fighter. Common sense should have told someone, especially a guy like Frank Warren who's been in the game for years, that a fight like this might be to dangerous. This is what you get when you try to rush a fighter, everything Amir Khan and his handlers talked about prior to losing this fight was becoming the youngest British Champion. When you try to rush a fighter past those development stages dangerous things can happen.
Good to see Amir doing great now. He is a very good student of the game. He recognized his mistakes and made sure to improve them. Victor Ortiz should take a note from him.
Well, I guess I figured out why Froch and Khan disliked each other So what was Froch's deal in their beef? I'm guessing professional jealousy because Khan was given the attention of sky sports and Froch might have FINALLY worked out a deal with Sky after Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, and Abraham?
Back then, during his pursuit of Calzaghe, Carl was always bitter towards those fighters that received a great deal of media attention. Amir was one of them, and after reading a few negative comments in the press, he would respond with **** of his own. But they've settled they're differences now. Khan on Ringside spoke of how comforting it is having support from fellow Brits like Carl, and Carl said he was really proud of Amir's win over Maidana.
The jury is still out on Khan, but it does appear that Roach has improved his D, and yeah, hindsight is 20/20, but you gotta take those chances when they are there to prove you are game. Wlad Klitschko is the PERFECT example of this, as he was abused by the megapower southpaw, Sanders, but came back and took on the megapower Peter, and handled him not once, but twice. Matter of fact, I see Khan doing similarly. I see Roach letting him face more heavy hitters soon, and then we'll know for sure if he's got the grill for boxing or if it was just one of those shots that would've KOed a gorilla.
