Just rewatched Briggs vs Kltischko and started thinking what was the most one sided fight ever?

Wilson stopped Briggs early in Briggs' career. Wilson was a pretty big puncher but was far from a great fighter and was not very durable. Briggs was getting a lot of attention at the time and entered the fight a bit c0cky. Lewis stopped him... Lewis was a huge puncher and one of the best Heavyweights ever. Briggs got the fight with Lewis after receiving a gift decision over a 48 year old Foreman (less than 2 months shy of his 49th birthday). He hasn't been stopped since and Briggs version 2.0 has not been stopped... you know, the huge 260 Lb. + Briggs. He was 225 vs. Wilson and 228 vs. Lewis.

Multiple boxers have won fights one-armed, including Vitali himself. After he had been ridiculed for giving up in a fight he was clearly winning one-armed many years before.

 

Multiple boxers have won the fights with one arm against lower level opponents. But you don't win top fights with one hand. Is there any examples? And I don't mean those kind of injuries where you can still use your hand, I mean fighting literally without using other hand cause its 99% GOOOOOONE ( like Groves - Eubank jr 12th round).

Briggs arm wasn't even near 99 gone, so that's moving goalposts.

 

Yeah it was offtopic but I was just curious if there are examples of one armed fighter winning a BIG fight (after you said multiple fighters have won fights with one arm.. but obviously those fights are against lower level opponents.)

 

Calzaghe vs Lacy

It was a real shocking fight that one, people over at the "other" forum i was on at the time it was like 99% saying Lacy was gonna brutally ko calzaghe, and the few picking calzaghe thought he was going to go through hell to do it


After about 4 rounds i started to feel really bad for Lacy in that one.

 

Not a true statement unless you're saying Lewis was inferior to Vitali, which still wouldn't mmake it true.

 

How was Oscar v Mayorga one sided? He struggled early on, got tagged a lot and rocked badly at one point. Finished with a beauty of a KO, but still competitive.

 

That Mayweather v Gatti fight was a brutal beatdown.

 

he won every round and knocked mayorga down what 5 times. he dropped mayorga in the first minute of the fight

 

Vitali Klitschko vs Danny Williams was a BRUTAL beating.

 

they fought completely different versions of briggs, one prime tough, one shot but still willing to absorb it. so thats completely inapplicable, like claiming berbick is as good as frazier for beating ali.
