2, 4, 7 and 12 was fairly clear rounds for Kessler - round 1 a tie and the rest for Calzaghe - fairly clear too. 116-112 Calzaghe - giving him round 1 on hometown advantage. I think it's just as crazy scoring 2, 4, 7 or 12 for Calzaghe as scoring 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 for Kessler. All in all a pretty easy fight to score. As for the HBO-scorecard - a f*cking joke!!!
I am new so obviously what i say doesnt mean much. But Someone winning the later rounds more effectivly doesnt mean that they win the fight. You score round by round- you do not go back and change the scores after the fact. So it doesnt matter who won the rounds more convincingly... 116-112 Calzaghe
I had round 1 a draw and Kessler winning 2, 4, 7 and 12. 116-113 final score. Whether of not Kessler landed the more significant punches in a few of the rounds, Calzaghe controlled the ring and fought his fight in those rounds. It was obvious that Kessler knew this as well, otherwise he wouldn't have gone for the KO in the 12th!
I suggest you watch it for a fifth time then. Infact **** it, watch it a hundred times. The closest you could possibly score it is 116-113.
Doesn't matter much. Joe won decisively enough to mean that not even Kessler nuthuggers could say he did not win
I scored 2 and 4 for Kessler. The rest are for Calzaghe. If you want to be generous to Kessler, you could score round 7 or 12 as even rounds.
I had it close to begin with, 7-5 JC, but with the fight being in Wales you have to realize the cards are going to be a bit wider than they should be. As long as you're not crying robbery...Kessler in no way deserved to win that fight.
Sorry bro but you need new glasses. I watched the fight for the 3rd time on Monday and The most I could give Mikkel was 4 rounds.....and that's me being generous....I really only wanted to give Kessler 3 but round 1 was pretty close.
