I think Cotto was on his way to getting stopped again had it not been for Margarito's eye. Hollow victory for Cotto IMO as the deck was stacked in his favor.
One last question for you brainwashed clowns. What happened to the pads?? Where are they?? Do you honestly believe that a State Boxing Commission "LOST" the only evidence they had to accuse a man of trying to load his wraps?? If you do then you are even more stupid that ever. They had accusations & that's all those wraps & pads were harmless. Where was the state inspector when Shane Mosely got in ring juiced to the gills. Dont forget that isn't just an accusation Mosely was PROVEN to have used PED's before He is a CHEAT!!! He tried to lie his way out but his name on BALCO receipts proved him a liar
What do you mean where are the pads?, do you expect them to send you samples or something?. As I previously stated, if the scumbag and his bigger scumbag trainer were innocent they would do A LOT more to bark about it than be quiet for all those years.
I started panicking the week of the fight, he said. I knew we were in deep s__t, and we couldnt tell anyone. It was too late to pull out of the fight. But I want to make it clear that I did not plan what happened. Maybe I was feeling the pressure of the fight and not paying attention to what I was doing when I reached into my bag and grabbed the training gauze, but I didnt do it on purpose. I made a mistake. I wasnt trying to hide anything. I just screwed up, and I did it in front of Mosleys trainer and the commissioners. I was just under a lot of pressure because I knew we shouldnt have taken the fight, I knew Tony was in trouble and I knew that I had put him in that position. I wrapped Tonys hands four times in front of Mosleys trainer and the commissioners and two representatives from Golden Boy (Promotions) after they found the gauze. I admitted then that I made a mistake I confessed to the commission after the fight. I took responsibility for my actions and I think Ive been punished as if Tony had fought with the gauze. Capetillo said that he thanks God every day that Margarito did not fight with the gauze inserts. Ive trained fighters in L.A. for 30 years, Ive known Shane Mosley since he was a little kid, he said. I would never want to hurt him. I would never want one of my fighters to seriously hurt any fighter. I live in their world. I know how they suffer in this sport. I know how they sacrifice. I know what they go through to make it to the top. I know that they get screwed over by promoters and managers. I respect fighters more than anyone. Capetillo said the criminal image that has hounded him since the incident is a constant source of shame. I wish the Mosley fight was a nightmare that I could wake up from because I feel horrible about it, he said. I feel bad for the shame Ive brought my family in Mexico. I feel bad for letting my fighter down and for letting his fans down. To them, and to the entire sport of boxing, I want to say Im sorry. I want to apologize to everybody. Ive always been a hard-working man who helped make champions through hard work and dedication to the sport, not by cheating. All I can do now is continue to train my fighters and hope that in time I can prove to the fans and to boxing that Im an honest trainer. http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/124655-capetillo-breaks-silence-apologizes-for-hand-wrap-scandal Read this properly and bookmark that link, fool.
Its exactly what I said Capetillo accidently put a used pad in the initial wrap. But it was a Harmless pad . He was right about Tony too He was not in condition to fight. He was sick, weight drained & obviously affected by the pantomime pre fight. Sad part is they had to have Mosely cheat and be juiced to the gills to beat him You say Capetillo would have created more fuss if he'd been innocent. The man admitted what he'd done & that Tony had no knowledge of it. But surely if this was an attempt to load the gloves and the CSAC could prove it Why didn't they????? Why did they hide the findings for months ? Why didn't they come out & put the so called pads on display to prove theyre right? If they thought it was a genuine attempt to cheat why keep the findings quiet so long Hell the CSAC rep watched Capetillo wrap Tony's hands passed the wrap & signed off on it If it was illegal why didn't he say something. The fact the CSAC claim to have lost the pads sealed it for me It was all a railroading to try to cover up the CSAC bunglings
Bullcrap!! Manny Paquaio really retired Tony Margarito. Cotto only took the rematch because he knew Tony would be fighting with basically one good eye. Cotto STILL!! couldn't put him away though could he. Tonys eye was blind from round two but the doc didn't think of stopping it till 7 more rounds had passed He waited until Tony started to come on and Cotto started to wilt. Tony was beating his chest Cotto was looking dejected. That fight was stopped to save Cotto the embarrassment of maybe quitting AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Real tough guy old Miguel lol he couldn't beat a one eyed fighter had to leave it to the crooked doc. He couldn't beat a one legged Yuri Foreman either even though Mercante jr wouldn't let Foreman retire made him keep fighting I saw Cotto's first 2 pro fights live in Texas and was a fan till I realized what a whiney bitchy person he is
Margarito was exactly himself Other than maybe not focusing on the body as much. Max kept harping on how he thought Margo wasn’t punching as hard as usual, and I think that’s horsesh*t. He was doing a pretty decent amount of damage there. He just wasn’t as accurate as he used to be (probably in part because of the eye) and his already porous defense was downright awful (definitely because of the eye). Also, he wasn’t attacking the body nearly as much as he did in the first fight. while Cotto won almost every round, if Margo’s eye hadn’t completely closed up, he might have been able to come back and win. I’m not saying it was a bad stoppage at all – it was a great stoppage, almost perfect – but there were plenty of times, even after the eye mostly closed up, where Margarito was giving Cotto serious problems, and if this one goes 12, maybe it ends differently. I thought there was a ton of drama despite Cotto winning all but one or two rounds.
that eye was initially damaged in the 1st fight with cotto. even though cotto lost....he softened margarito up for shane...who softened him up for pac. pac fought a weight drained zombie version of margarito. sure he further damaged the eye....but cotto retired margarito. margarito took his ass whooping like a man...i'll give him that. he'll always be remembered as a cheating ass muhfcuka. his best wins have question marks over them now.
it was pointless....all it came down to was a one-eyed bull missing badly and getting picked apart in the process. the stoppage was the humane thing to do. even though margarito was willing to die...even his cheating ass didn't deserve death.
Cotto fought an almost perfect fight for rematching Margarito. He stayed off the ropes. He circled and moved constantly. He backpedaled but only after hitting him with telling blows. He caught many uppercuts with a cupped hand. He never allowed himself to be caught on the ropes for any significant time. He tied up when he needed to .He pushed back. And he prepared for twelve hard rounds so his stamina did not become a problem. In other words, he fought a very smart and effective fight. first time, he did none of those things. Moreover, he intelligently aimed for and tagged an eye that was pre-disposed to injury but an injury has memory and so did the eye. That said, it was a cit…not a damaged orbital….that was the problem. In the end, Cotto, in not making the same mistakes, avoided being trapped and hit the same as teh last time, drastically reducing Margarito’s punch percentage. Margarito’s punches were begiinning to bust up Cotto’s now so difficult to bust up skin …. but he is a cumulative puncher. and he was not connecting at nearly the same rate and volume. Add to the fact that Margarito fought four rounds with limited or no peripheral vision at all due to the swelling caused by Cotto’s punches (the jab in particular) … and the conclusion I reached is that cotto did exactly what he had to do to win.
Why would you want them to display anything to the public when Capatello himself is admitting he loaded up Concreto's gloves?
A man who loads up his gloves and literally tries to kill his opponents(or permanently damage them and end their careers/jobs) with that advantage is someone that definitely deserves death and in the worst way possible.
banned for life at the very minimum. death...had someone been permanently injured...i would agree. he's definitely a piece of **** for pulling that move.
I believe you are right, it was accidental. I've heard rumors of a secret ritual where the trainer blindfolds the fighter, wraps his hands and chants a secret prayer before the gloves are put on. Only this time Capetillo repeated the chant one too many times causing the pad to harden a little too much. There's no way cheato knew what was going on, he was blindfolded, not his fault at all.
